They seem so similiar. Trying to decide which one to choose. Any advice?

I'm just going to remove my comments, don't wish to be accused of making untrue statements.

George -BB is only 7 miles from Disney and now that the new road is open that cuts off the need to go to the west end of 192 to get to it the drive is shorter. My home is on Lake Davenport and the drive is probably 20 mins to WH buit not ot WDW as you try to make it seem.It makes me a bit sad when I read other owners trying to "dis " places where they don't own. BB is a great place and has great reviews -just as WH has and has a super restaurant , salon and spa on site .Nearby there are supermarkets ,Wal mart and eateing PLces springing up all the time the OP will have a good time if they stay there just as they would if they stayed WH or anywhere else for that matter.

I am NOT trying to DIS any other places, I make a point out of specifically not doing that, EVER! I just don't like the fact that they have a map advertising is as being right on 192 next to WDW when it's in fact by 27 and 192. It does look like a very nice resort, you're right, I just don't think it's where the resort map claims it is..go take a look at the resort map and you'll see what I mean. There are tons of nice resorts in the area, and there's room for everyone! People just should represent themselves honestly and the resort website does not do that, in terms of it's location, that's my ONLY point here.

This is the map I'm referring to:

I see the map George but lets be fair on a map that size the pointers have to be a reasonable size in order for them to be seen. The area covered by the square depicting BB also goes as far as Lindfields and practically down as far as HR. I don't really think BB are trying to claim it is near the formosa area as they coud have built it there in the first place if that what they wanted .Their directions clearly state where they are in relation the the 192 .

I took a good look at the reviews when I booked my husband and I in at Bahama Bay this March Break. Bahama Bay has tons of great reviews and to be honest there are a few negative ones as well. I have stayed at Regal Palms in the past which is a longer drive to Disney and even that drive wasn't that bad if you used the shortcuts and avoided rush hour traffic. I agree with Jannyans in that the maps do accurately show where the resort is, if you take a good look at them. The advantage that Bahama Bay seems to have is that you can get away from the congestion and traffic in the Disney area and relax in a quieter resort which has a lovely tropical theme. That way you get the best of both worlds. As long as you have a vehicle, it is well within a comfortable commuting distance.

and in all honesty cannot recommend the place. We had reserved a 2 bdrm condo through Hotwire Ticker, so we did get a great rate. When we arrived I will admit I was initially pleased as the development is very nice looking and the front desk staff were professional and courteous, except they will not let you go to your room before 3 pm (we were there at 11) without paying an additional fee. But that was fair, check-in is posted as 4 and they let us unload the car and leave our stuff in a back room. We returned later and were brought to our room - it was at the far end, near construction, but that was fine, I didn't mind that (by the way, although the work crews started early in the morning, we didn't hear any noise except the beeping of a truck backing up once). I was surprised that we were given a 3 bdrm, especially since the place was empty, so it wasn't that there weren't any other rooms left. My guess is this was the "special" room for discount rates or something. Anyway, we threw our stuff in the room and headed back out. We returned late (around 11) and when we removed the bedspread from the bed, discovered that someone had vomited next to the bed and it was not cleaned from the floor right next to the bed (that was hidden by the bedspread) and the carpet on that side was stiff since it was obviously wiped up, but not really cleaned. It was late, so we threw towels on top of the soiled carpet and figured we'd deal with it in the morning. On top of this the kitchen smelled of rotten fish (broken garbage disposal) and the drain in the master bath was clogged. Next morning, my husband went to the front desk, explained the issues and requested a room change. Again, the place was empty, but we were told they could not do that (??), but they'd come clean, fix, etc. We had to be at the College Program check-in at 9 am to get my son checked-in so we left. We got back later that night (around 9) - they had fixed the garbage disposal and unclogged the drain (however, they left the wod of disgusting hair, etc. in the bathroom) and semi-cleaned the carpet (it was still stiff , but no visible signs of vomit at least - I put more towels down as I didn't want to walk on it). To make matters worse, instead of taking the dirty towels from the floor with them they threw them ON THE BED! Cleaned everything off and we went to bed. We put up with the place as we were only there a few more days and it was pre-paid. So we get home and I'm checking my credit card and lo and behold there's a $50 charge from Bahama Bay on it. I called to inquire what this was - get this, a cleaning fee! They do charge a $50 fee if your stay is less than 5 days (I believe), but we reserved through Hotwire, so this did not apply. I was told it was for the cleaning while we were there! After 3-4 days of calling, I finally sent a detailed email and the $50 was reversed. But all in all, the cleaning staff was not up to par in my book and the service was not very good. So I cannot recommend this resort, nor would I ever stay there again. My recommendation for those with reservations is before the person who brings you to your room (they bring you in and explain where everything is ) leaves, go over the room with a fine tooth comb and make sure it's clean.
