No, it's not a huge amount, but it's irritating. We don't have a dryer here and while I've found this inconvenient before, this is the first time it's rained for two weeks! I finally gave in and took everything to a laundromat, where they charge $10/load! *sigh*

In the grand scheme of things, I know it's not a big deal. But the rain has me feeling a bit grumpy and now my budget is out $40. :headache:

Thanks for the mini-vent.

Yep, and that isn't even overpriced... I called around... When they say Sydney is the 6th most expensive city to live in, they aren't kidding!

Wow! That's expensive and awful. How much is a dryer there? Do you have room for a dryer?

Time for a drying rack. I have one for the things I wash on delicate. I can hang about 8 shirts and a few small things on it all at once. Most things dry in a few hours.

Sorry about the hit to the budget. We've had a few here lately - two trips to the vet at about $140 each... And now our furnace is acting up... $89 for the guy to tell me we probaly need a new furnace as ours would cost $600 to fix and will likely not last more than a year or two even with the repair. :headache:

Was that the self serve price or the wash and fold service?

I've seen most prices as a $1 per pound for the wash and fold service, which can add up really quickly with a house load of laundry.

At the same time, why didn't you just wash the stuff at home and use the dryers at the laundromat? It would cost me $15 at least for a week's worth of laundry there. So I wash at home, and spend about $2 to dry everything there. It's a bit nicer to have big tables for folding clothes on too.
