bags for kids

I have 2 kids - DD7 and DS5. I was trying to find a small bag for each of them to carry in the parks. I want them to have their autograph books and small trinkets, etc. I have been having a very hard time finding anything.

Thoughts?

My dd is going to be 5 the week we go, I found her a super-cute little princess backpack at Walmart for her to use, I am sure she is not going to carry much, my thinking is snacks, sunglasses, a few things to keep her occupied. I did not want her to have anything too big, you know as well as I do that by the end of the day, I am going to be carrying it!

For our last trip (2006) I got my ds's small backpacks at the Dollar Tree. They are the ones that only have one thick strap and go over the shoulder. They worked out great!

If you are going to have a car wait till you get there. Every Wallgreens and CVS had tons of Disney small bags and backpacks to choose from. I paid a small fortune on Ebay before we left getting 2 child size mickey mouse fanny packs. When we got there my oldest refused to wear a fanny pack so I ended up getting him a drawstring backpack at CVS for $5. (Hubby backed him up about the fanny pack -next time I'm going to make Hubby wear one!!)

My parents made us wear fanny packs I don't think I've fully forgiven them for that one.

Jansport make a small backpack, called half-pint. It is the perfect size for kids of any age. I have them for both my girls, 3 and 7. www.ebags.com

a friend bought our dd's the "2007" drawstring backpack from wdw. I liked it because it had a zipper compartment so we didn't have to open the backpack each time we needed their autograph books. It was easy to carry. They have these all over, just make sure it has the outter zipper compartment.

I got the cutest mickey cinch sack back packs from ebay for $1!! See my link below, its in post number 2, i think....i got 2 of them with MIckey Mouse on it and they are gorgeous!!! Have fun planning, i sure DID!!

if you go to disney shopping they have bags listed with the swimsuit accessories. I got one for my youngest. They have cars and POTC I know off the top of my head. One strap that crosses over and they are not very big. Enough room for what you said you wanted them to take but won't have a huge bag to haul around. I think they are running on sale about $7.99 but use a code to get an additional off.

well i m a dd myself so if ur dd and ds r young and small i would suggest getting camelpack fannypacks. they carry water and have enough space 4 autograph books and little trinkets!

Wow, your boys are in for some great treats! I am also working on some surprises for the kids and have been making some shirts thanks to the DISigners. Do you remember what seller you got the sinch sack backpacks from? I searched on ebay and the lowest prices I saw were $3.25 plus shipping. These bags look perfect for what we need. Thanks! Unfortunately, I cannot offer any advice. I just had to comment that on my last trip, I saw something I hadn't seen before in the parks. They were little monkey backpacks... the tail being a leash

I don't know if I'm just unobservant, but they are really a hoot for the parents who require leashes for their children.
