Does Disney transfer bags between WDW-based DVC resorts if one has a split reservation (stay at one DVC for the first half and the other DVC resort for the second half of the trip)?

Also, if we start our trip at an All-Stars and then go to a DVC resort, will Disney transfer the bags for us?

Any fees for this in either scenario?

Many thanks in advance!

Sure- just contact the Bell staff at the first resort and they will make the arrangements. There is no cost for the service, but a gratuity for the Bell staff is appreciated (we usually tip on both ends for this service).

You should realize that the transfer will usually take place in the late afternoon and your bags may not be available until after 4:00 - even if your room is available earlier, so just be sure to have any needed things with you when you leave the first resort.

Enjoy! :)

We just did this, twice - once from all star movies to saratoga, and then from ssr to vwl. It worked beautifully. The only problem I had was my own fault, I left my ID in my luggage on the transfer from all stars to ssr, and couldn't exchange my dvc ap voucher without it - so we couldn't go to the parks until after my luggage arrived at about 4:30. We needed to rest, so it worked out - but I was smacking my head about that all afternoon. :headache:

Hi! I'm thinking the same thing cause we have a booking at BWV & VWL in June,
but i'm thinking of extending our trip to 2 more days at the value resort like All-Star/Movies, does MS accept cash ressies for these resorts? And from there
can we still use DME to MCO?

Thanks!

Thanks for the great responses! Much appreciated.

Zoom, That is my plan-to do an All-Star on a cash reservation, then do a DVC and another DVC later in the same trip. I believe you can do the DME. Just designate the All-Star as the initial destination and the DVC as the departure point.

Yes, WDW will transfer your bags and DME is available to guests staying at all onsite resorts. You will need to reserve thru CRO.

Enjoy!

I just got back from a stat at SSR with baggage transfer over to AKL and DME, and it all worked, fine. The only glitchy bit was that you have to book two DME one-way trips - they aren't linked and it is not what most people do, so you may be asked about it at the airport. There is also the issue of having DME #1 booked through Member Services, while you must book the return trip through CRO to be linked with your value reservation. Not a big deal, really.

The bag transfer was fairly smooth, though tips at both ends does add up. It is a very, very nice service.
