Hi
I remember listening to the podcast a few months ago and one of the team recommended a great place to get bagels. I remember that it was off-site but I don't know where. I have tried searching but can't find it. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ann

Thank you so much safetymom for the quick reply. I think we will give it a go when we are there next week.

When you have the Delish bagels you realize that other bagels in Orlando are not so good.

It was just a little joke. Very small. Tiny. Itty bitty. Teeny weeny. Not even a 1.0 on the laughometer.

But I was kidding.

Makes me laugh when stores call themselves "New York Bagels" and they're in another state. Nothing beats an authentic NY bagel.:thumbsup2

These bagels are made in New York and the final cooking is done in Orlando. I find them as good as the bagels I get in NYC.

I agree 100%....but Kathy is correct.

These are started in NYC and finished in Orlando.

It's the closest we can get to a NYC bagel...and we're happy to have this outlet.

New York bagels are the best! I heard somewhere the water makes the difference! That's why bagels differ in quality. Or something like that!

Is there such a thing as a bad bagel? ;)

Oh god yes,

Every bagel I've had outside of NYC/NJ falls somehwere between "tolerable" and "bad" Any brand bagel at the grocery store is a bad bagel. It might be very tasty, but it generally is a roll, not a bagel. Just because you put a hole in the middle doesn't make it a bagel.

Thank you for this thread !

I was about to send Kevin a message asking him if he remembered the name of the Bakery.

It's true! That's why NYC pizza is the best, too. And why the bagels are started in NYC (where the water is) and finished in FL (where the heat is). ;)

I actually made a stop at Delish on the way down in May. We are from Virginia and my knowledge of bagels is based on store bought or Panera Bread. I'm certainly no expert but the Delish bagels were much better. I don't know what it is...the texture is different...is it sweeter too? Not sure how to describe it, but it's worth trying.

I've been to Delish twice in the last month. Maybe I don't know what a good bagel is (never been to NY...), but they didn't change my life. I honestly didn't taste much difference between theirs and the Dunkin Donuts one I had yesterday :lmao: I did go late in the day both times and the flavors were limited (and they did not offer to make any more), so perhaps they just weren't fresh. The guys working there are wonderful though, very pleasant.
