We just came back this past Wednesday and prior to our trip, I had the very same fear. Our weather actually turned out to be much better than I expected. In fact, we've always gone done in June, and I found this week to be much more bearable because we did have some overcase skies.

We were there for 8 days, we had one day that rained on and off (went to Blizzard Beach in the rain--what fun!) Anything related to water will close during a thunderstorm. We actually had a couple of days with no rain at all (even though the forecast said we had a 40% chance). A few days we would get rain by about 5 pm. Our strategy became one of doing as much as possible during the early hours of the day. That seemed to work fine.

As far the the rides, my husband rode the Hulk in the pouring rain!! From what we could tell, unless it was a severe thunderstorm, every ride stayed open, even the ones in Suess Landing.

Bring your ponchos (umbrellas were helpful too because the ponchos don't keep you completely dry) and enjoy yourself!

Thunderstorms in Florida are pretty normal in the hot summer months. They usually come and go pretty fast so I don't think they will spoil your vacation in anyway. We leave this coming Wednesday and I'm not worried at all. Sometimes the showers only last about 15 minutes and then it's over. Have a great time, I know we will!!

We went at the end of June this year for 5 days and it rained and stormed the entire time. I think we saw maybe 1-2 hours of sunlight per day. We just wore our ponchos and kept going. There were some pretty good thunderstorms while we were there, but we never encountered any closed rides. It usually got rid of some of the crowd and made the lines more bearable. We also did not get hot very often. It has its pros and cons, but don't think it will ruin your trip. You can carry on as usual most of the time.

We just got back this past week, and it rained every day. However, it never rained in the morning. Plan on increasing clouds throughout the day, which actually was a welcome relief from the sun - usually rained around 4 or 5 pm, lasted about 1 hour. This is a good time to plan meals if you can, usually by 630, the rain had stopped.
