Looks like the forecast for opening weekend calls for thunderstorms. How does heavy rain/thunderstorms affect the event? I guess the brightside would be less crowds anyways

Last year, Saturday opening weekend it poured down for a while. The soundstage houses were freezing cold once you went in all wet, fortunately I didn't get a cold!

Marquibiri :thumbsup2

Rain + HHN = lower crowds and empty scarezones. All houses/shows/rides will operate as normal.

Thunderstorms + HHN = same as above, but rides affected by weather will be suspended.

Don't look at forecasts for this area more than 24 hours out since they change all the time.

I do remember a couple of years ago we went in Sept and the weather forecast was predicting Orlando to be in the path of a cat 4 (I think) hurricane. My wife was in panic mode, however the path changed or the storm died out (or both) cant remember which and this ended up being our driest visit yet with rain only one day at the parks for around an hour. So, I get what you are saying, but it is still difficult not to obsess over something you have been waiting for for so long.

Rain in the forecast = wear flip flops or Crocs and bring rain ponchos.

I second not even looking at the forecast until Thursday at the earliest. They can't get the weather right for today half the time! :lmao:

The other thing to keep in mind is that it is pretty seldom it will pour all night here. Normally the storm will come tearing through then move on. So odds are pretty slim you will have rain all night.

Uuuuggghhh.

I was optimistic earlier in the week about this weather thing. Now they are talking about 60% chance of rain. Weatherman says it could affect the USF night game Saturday, which means they are thinking it'll rain in the evening hours Saturday. And with the high temps being forecasted lower than normal, think it'll be cloudy and rainy most of the day? I even took Sunday off figuring I'd stay at the Omni in Champions Gate and lay around in the lazy river. Dang it. :guilty:.

I spent too long looking forward to this and now refuse to believe it will rain until I am wading in water knee deep. Until then I will choose to believe its just perspiration.

Yeah...it looks like Saturday might turn out the worst day this weekend. But the good thing is Champions Gate and quite a ways from Universal so the rain might not make it.

So the scareactors are not in the scare zones if it rains. But say it rains from like 7-9, do you guys know if the scare actors will then come out for the rest of the night? I really hope so, but wonder if they would keep the actors on staff all night when they may not even go out to work.
I don't want my one HHN to be ruined by rain :( Last year, it was extremely cold and windy for me, and this year is looking like rain. I have such bad luck.

They will show up after the rain clears and it is deemed safe for scareactors to be scary in the streets.

Great thanks! Although of course I'm hoping for no rain Sat night! I'm leaving for our flight down in about 10 mins
Oh and of course, I've got watery eyes, congested head, and stuffy nose this am when I woke up. If it's not one thing, it's another. But I'm having fun no matter what. Soaking wet and sick, who cares.

Heading over to HHN tonight I went through a storm in the MetroWest area but by the time I got to the garage, it had stopped raining. But as I was leaving around 8:15pm, it started to sprinkle and then once I reached the covered walkways the skies opened up. It poured all the way home.
