Number 1 in the UK Singles Chart right now is:

EAMON - F*** IT (I DON'T WANT YOU BACK)

Would it bother you?

I really hate bad language in song lyrics. :sad2:

I hate that song. Purposely did not buy a cd (Now that's what I call music #15) because it had that song on it..although how much would be left after they cleaned it up?
Now, back in the day, I used to listen to some "heavy" music...and there were parental advisories on the cd's. But they didn't release those songs for air play, or they recorded a version with no swearing.
Now it seems they don't care, they just barely "bleep" it out and the kids can still tell what word the artist is saying.

I hate it. My DS asked us to switch to a different radio station because that's what the bus driver plays. When I heard the songs, I WASN'T happy. Not sure if I"m going to complain cause he's only on the bus about 15 minutes a day (and he's at the age it would embarass him for mom to complain), but we certainly won't be listening to it in our car.

I HATE that song! It's always coming on the radio station I listen to. All it is is a bunch of bleeps. I didn't even know he said so many bad things in the song, and that the song title actually had the F word in it, until they said so on the radio. And my sister also told me some parts that I didn't notice. Many people thought it was great that he really expressed his opinion without worrying how he said it. But I really don't think that was necessary.

I HATE that song. It gets turned off immediately when it comes on the radio.

Ever hear a Body Count CD? Every other word is a cussword! Man, Ice-T is angry about something, that's for sure! :)

Wow and I was having a hard time with Montgomery Gentry and Gretchen Wilson saying H... Yeah in their songs and my 6 & 8 yo singing it all the time. Bothers me that I have hear 11 yo DS sing Eminem and does not understand why I don't like him.

I've gotta say, my radio says what song is playing on certain channels and I was suprised to see that Eamon song on my screen.

It doesn't bother me though I prefer music with the lyrics in it intact than bleeped out.

I hadn't heard the song when DD(12) asked me to look up the lyrics. When I found them I said, "NO WAY!" would I print them with that many F words in the chorus. It's not appropriate and I'm tired of the industry thinking it's okay for using such words without a thought or care.

I hate it. And I've walked out of two music stores (letting them know on the way out that they just lost me as a customer) because of the langauge in the music they were playing during daytime hours. If the clientelle were only adults, I don't like it but okay. But that music is TOTALLY inappropriate when kids are present in the store.

I have never heard the song but I won't buy any "NOW" CDs because I don't think most hip hop and rap is appropriate for my kids. My students tell me that the NOW songs are edited but my 12 year old could figure it out. Parents who can't say no to their kids are not doing their job. Bravo to those of you who have made your feelings known to your kids or the stores.
TKD Lisa, my DD#1's bus driver also plays the local station that plays these "hits"--although she is not allowed to listen to that station at home. I am also debating sending am EMail to the district transportation director asking that he listen to perhaps the local adult contemporary station, or the "hits" station that bills itself as family friendly (no swearing or too-sexy stuff in any of their music)
The music industry is just playing on the way moral standards have gone downhill.

I don't like that song...but I guess I listen to a few songs with swears in them...Outkast is my favorite band and they don't have the best of language in their songs...but I'm not allowed to buy their CD's so I recorded them onto a cd off the radio where they bleep them out...or I listen to them on Yahoo! Launch and they bleep them out also.

I've never actually heard much of the song (if you can call it that!) as I turn the TV channel over everytime they come on now!

Who wants to listen to a song full of bleeps anyway? :confused3
