We went to Ohana last saturday. Although the place was crowd but we only wait outside for 5 minutes. When we get in there, it all still start out pretty well with chicken wings, shrimp, salads and wontons. They are all tastes great. Steak and pork come next and it come out ok not great. Then the bad karma happen. I wait for a while, and remember from this board that they also have Turkey and Sausage, so I asked my waitress for it. She tried to fool by told me that they don't have or serve Turkey and Sausage and tried to implied that I confused it with chicken wings. I have to point at turkey and sausage on table other side of walk way. So she came by later and serve it. Sausage is not taste good but Turkey is excellent. So I asked her for more turkey and steak, she told me it will be 3 more minutes before it can be serve.
Well she disappear for 20 minutes, I have to tell another waiter to get her. when she come back she can't remember that I order more steak and turkey. we decide to get dessert and leave. I really want to complain to Oahna manager but I am kind of rush. I guess unlike buffet such as Chef Mickey, Ohana is more like "all they want to serve"

We were there at the end of August. It was our first time there and I was not at all impressed. My kids wouldn't eat anything so we ordered mac and cheese. It took them about a 1/2 hour to get that to them, meanwhile dh and I were just about done with our meal. Our waitress forgot my margarita and had to be reminded. I then asked for coffee after dinner and I never did get that. The food was just so-so. The turkey was really dry and had too much smoke flavor to it. We will not be going to back there on our next trip.

O'Hana's used to be great...

....then came the Disney push-push-push of volume over quality (ergo, yes, their hard selling of dining plans). It's been downhill ever since.

I too ate dinner there recently, as a guest of a vendor when I was at conference back in June. It was just as bad as the two prior posts implied, so anyone reading this is warned: the O'Hana's of today is at best a very faded memory of what it once was.

We just ate at Ohana's last week and had an AWESOME meal and friendly service too.
The steak and pork were excellent and we commented to the waiter. Soon after the chef came out and talked to us a bit and said he was glad we enjoyed it and it was particularly good that night. My son and DH especially loved the wings and I ate almost all the shrimp.
The service we had was quick and efficient bringing skewers by our table and dessert was YUMMY too!
Sorry to hear others didn't enjoy it. :confused3
My only complaint would be the price/lack of alcohol of the Lapu Lapu drink @ 12.99 and then a surcharge of 3.95, (DDP so drink went as a room charge) CRAZY!!

On Dec. 27, 2005 we went to 'Ohanas for about the 8th time. All previous meals there had been good as was the service. We have gone back to WDW about 5 times since that trip and have not gone back to 'Ohana because of the horrible service we received on Dec. 27. It was no service instead of bad service. I asked to talk to the manager and was told that he was busy. After about 1 hour the waiter had stopped at our table twice and didn't have enough food for our group of 4 at anytime. I have no idea how the bread pudding is because we never got it. Each of use had 2 or 3 cubes of meat and was never given more. We will try other places before we go back. I paid the price of the meal, even though we didn't get anything close to what we wanted and left no tip and just got the hell out of there.

We love O'Hana's food but our service from our actual server stunk - he had an asst who was great - our main server would forget things that we asked for and woud never come back the asst was great . I hated to leave a tip for he real server because he really did not deserve it but his asst was the one who did all of the work. I was really mad!

I am sorry you had such a bad meal.. We were there on the 26th for my daughters 3rd b-day and had a great time. The server was great and even brought my dd a cupcake with a candle for her birthday,

We were there July 4th week and food and service were both great. There were 4 of us - myself and my boyfriend (in our 40's) and my boyfriends son and sons girlfriend (both 18). Every one love it. The two 18 year old were not crazy about the desert (which I LOVE) so they gave them a HUGE bowl of vanilla ice cream - which they finished.

We were all dressed up in our matching Hawaiian Mickey shirts and our waiter gave us all leis and took a bunch of group pictures.

We had dinner at on the 28th of August and really enjoyed our meal (except the sausage). My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we got to dance and our service was great. However, I think the whole restaurant need an overhaul. The chairs are very worn and the tables are so tacky that I couldn't lift my glass off of it and the windows need a good cleaning. I would say that the "appearance" of the restaurant isn't up to Disney standards saying that however we did enjoy the food and entertainment.

I posted this in the dining review thread:

Me and my DGF just got back from the World 8/29. We had excellent food everywhere but Ohana. I made reservations for 7:00 p.m. on 8/28. We arrived 15 minutes early and we were given a buzzer until our table was ready. We sat at the bar and waited till 7:45 until I went back up and asked Why we have waited an hour if we had reservations. We were told that because we are a couple they treat it like we are walk-ups. After staring at the hostess for a minute, I wanted to speak to a manager. Not sure who this was but he came up to me and said we have a table for you. So we sit down and we have the lucky table right by the walkway where the kids congregate for the cocunut race. Well I was lucky to get hit in the face and arm with the broom and the mother was laughing of all things. Another kid (instead of sweeping the cocunut) kicked it like a soccerball into my DGF's knee. While this is going on, the waiter continues to place all the courses on the table at once (we have a two person table so he is piling plates on top of other plates even if we were still eating). The food was terribly overcooked as well. I know alot of people rave but I will NEVER return here again.

We've been eating at WDW restaurants since the mid 1980's and while the service and food was beyond our expectations things seemed to have changed since around 1995. They are pushing more to get more people into them with things like the package deals, DDP, DDE, free dining, etc. and still try and not increase the staff much. Thus not only is the kitchen overworked, but the staff and what happens is both the service and the food has suffered to the point that those that enjoyed the old way or expected more the $$$$ they charge expect. We now try and concentrate on some the less frequented restaurants especially for dinner and then the service and food is up to par to what it was during their hay-days. :thumbsup2

As far as piling food on the table I will agree with this. I liked it much better when they served the starter food in the revolving platter. This kept everthing together in one spot and you only had to turn the platter to get what you wanted. Now everthing is served in many little dishes and they get all over the place. I do like the new food and love the new desert.

Considering Ohanas is DS favorite restaurant, we eat there every visit which has been averaging 3 times a year for the last few years. Our overall impression is that we continue to really enjoy the food with the exception of the sausage. We have notice a decline in the service since our visit in 1/06. They are so busy with trying to get customers in and out that it is rarely a relaxing dinner anymore. We fell very rushed! This past August we were given the starters and then all of the other dishes and then waited 20 minutes for the meats, although our potatoes were filled twice in that period of time and they tried to serve us our desert!. As long as we continue to take our son to WDW and as long as the food quality does not decline, we will continue our visits to Ohanas. We did scratch Kona's off our list this past August, though.

You hit the nail on the head. We've eaten at 'Ohana 7 times, and we used to recommend it highly. We were there last Sunday. Waited over an hour to be seated, and had the worst service I've ever experienced at a Disney restaurant. I'm in the process of composing a letter to the president of WDW right now, because I've called and left 2 messages for the guest relations manager of 'Ohana who is obviously not going to return my call.

Unless things improve drastically, we won't return to 'Ohana.

I ate there for the first, only and last time in early June 07. We went for the Stitch breakfast and all I can say is....YUCK!

Under cooked food (raw bacon, yes RAW) and terrible service.
