Bad reviews on the PPH- starting to get nervous

In my experience at the PPH (which was not very good), the hotel is comparable to the motels along Harbor Blvd. and way overpriced in comparison. I just finished a stay at the Camelot Inn and Suites and the room was bigger, fresher, cleaner, the staff friendlier and more helpful than the PPH. I have found the staff at PPH to be the most UNhelpful of any of the Disney hotels. I've posted about my PPH issues in prior threads, so won't re-hash it here, but the only way I would chose to stay there again would be if the price were comparable to the Harbor motels. And they fix their shower temp issues. Freezing to scalding water on an 8 yr old child is totally unacceptable - and to be told to just shower later in the day is ridiculous.

I appreciate all the dialogue. :teeth: I am sorry in my delayed response. I went to Boise for work for a couple of day. Boise is such a great little town! I had never been. And their Trader Joe''s have wine unlike Utah's. :cloud9:

@rentayenta I just wanted to reiterate to take those reviews with a grain of salt. I spent last night in a Garden Grove hotel that had some really bad reviews. I was really worried about it a couple nights before checking in, but I got it on my hilton honors points and the price was right. Boy, were the reviews wrong! The lobby is under construction and there were some gross stains on some of the furniture (like someone left soda and candy on the furniture for a while), but the service was top notch and my room was above average. I have noticed that when reading Tripadvisor reviews, it's important to see how many reviews that person has posted in general. If all the bad reviews are from people who only wrote one review, I wouldn't be too concerned about that. Same thing goes with 5 star reviews - if they are all written by one time posters, that's not exactly good information.

Thats a good idea; the posters may just be negative by nature and not post positives reviews too.

I've found that PPH consistently has the nicest and most helpful CMs out of all the DLR hotels (oddly enough, GCH seems to have the least- by a landslide!). Rooms are larger (and brighter!) than most as well. We love it there.

So crazy how we all differ. We have always had stellar service at the GCH except for one lounger service and a rude lifeguard and we have stayed there a bunch of times. I chalk that up to everyone getting at least one off day. ;) I am so glad to hear that the service at PPH is top notch.

Thank you for the review. That is horrible about the water! Was your 8 y/o ok? :(

Yes, she was ok, but refused to shower for the rest of the trip. I just really did not like the way the issue was handled (or NOT handled). There were other things too, but that was the biggest.

That's terrible, poor thing. I don't blame her. I have had that happen in a few hotel showers and its no fun. I agree, it sounded as if it was handled very poorly.
