Shopping day!!
We both slept really badly in fact hardly at all and Im a terrible sleeper at the best of times. We really shouldnt have had those giant coffees yesterday! By 4am we decided we may as well get up. So after showering, we unpacked our cases and then headed to Walmart! We bought a few essentials plus lots of non-essentials like Country Music CDs, Jeans and fishing stuff for Tony, and fabric and scrapbooking stuff for me.
After Walmart, we were famished so headed to Bob Evans for breakfast. It was scrumptious. We had eggs, bacon, sausage, and freshly baked soft and yummy biscuits with sausage gravy.
Completely stuffed, we then drove up to Festival Bay which is now looking rather sad as there are so many empty shops there. Tony went in Sheplars and bought some work boots and a shirt, and we also bought a very bright patriot flag shirt for Callum, our son. We also had a wander around Bass Pro and then Ron Jon Surf Shop where Tony bought a shirt with parrots on for wearing to Parrot Cay when we are on the cruise later in the holiday.
Next, we headed to Joanns craft store, where I used a 20% off voucher to buy plenty of scrapbooking stuff for me and my sister. I also got some fun Americana fabric bundles. Not sure what Im going to make with them yet, but Im sure Ill think of something! Maybe some cushions.
Next, we headed to Prime outlets, where I bought tarts from Yankee Candle and Tony bought trainers from Nike. We also picked up a few things in the Disney Character Warehouse including some Christmas tree baubles and some prizes for the Dis quiz, which I will be hosting in April.
From there, we called in at Piktails, a scrapbooking store at Hunters Creek to pick up some Harry Potter scrapbooking stuff that I had previously ordered. Unfortunately, the owner wasnt there and her assistant didnt know about it so I had to choose it all again.
Next, the Florida Mall for a quick visit to The Scrappy Boutique, and then The Guiter Centre on the Orange Blossom trail for music stuff for Callum.
We were starting to flag by now, and deciding more food was required, drove to one of our favourite restaurants - The Cheesecake Factory at Mall at Millenia.
It was very busy as it was 6pm by now. We waited 20 minutes for a table and it was so worth it. Once again, The Cheesecake Factory didnt disappoint us. I had Chicken Bellagio creamy parmesan sauce over succulent breaded chicken with angel hair pasta, and Tony had his very favourite shepherds pie which was even richer than usual.
Even though we were very full, our server persuaded us to share a slice of Lemoncello cream torte, which was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The meal came to $50 before tip. Such good value for super food.
After this, we popped into Tiffanys to buy a silver charm for my cousin (a coffee cup and bean, which is very cute). And then a look around Abercrombie and Fitch for our daughter Maddie, but didnt see anything she would like (or hasnt already got!).
I cant believe how much shopping we did! Usually, we would spread this all over several days, but we knew we wouldnt have much shopping time this trip, so had to cram it in. Poor Tony had done a massive amount of driving today, but at least we could cross a lot of items off of our very long list. And in our defence, much of it was for other people!
Here's our shopping heap:
I think there was more, but I'd already packed some away.
While we were putting our credit card to good use today, Joh, Gary and Daniel, and Nat, Ellie and Matthew were enjoying dinner at Giraffe (the evening before) and breakfast in the V room at Gatwick before winging their way across to Orlando and checking in to The Villas at Wilderness Lodge.
Joh and Nat starting the holiday right with a couple of cosmos in Giraffe

Incidentally, the photos I am using are a complete mixture taken by us all.
Tomorrow: Yay! Meeting up at last for a fun day at Busch Gardens.
