Tony was awake early and went to the gym while I had a bit of a lie-in before going to a scrapbooking class. The CM in charge of the class clearly knew nothing at all about scrapbooking but we were all given some papers and other embellishments to make our pages with and it was fun to talk to the other ladies.
This morning we had brunch at Palo. This was booked for 10.30 and was arranged by a fellow DISer, Kathy (njprincess), from the ‘Parley Will This Get Me On The Ship Any Faster’ DIS group (thanks Kathy, we had a great time). There were thirteen of us and altogether and Kathy had arranged for us to have the private room at the back of Palo.
Joh, Gary, Nat, myself and Tony were joined by Peggy and Gary from Tampa, Char and Nate from Canada, Wendy and Rich from Georgia and Kathy and her brother, Frank, from New Jersey.
We had mimosas to start with and were shown around the buffet by our server.
There was an incredible choice!
Breads, cheeses, cold meats, crab claws and legs, shrimp, pastries and cinnamon buns, salads, fruits, and a hot selection with dishes like Eggs Benedict and Frittata.
Then came entree-style dishes.
I chose chicken parmesan which was delicious.
The veal was also a popular choice.
We also ordered a few pizzas to share among us.
Then there were the desserts! Tiramisu, cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, little fruit tartlets, choux buns, fruit meringue, mango mousse. So many different ones and all mini so you could try plenty.
I was already quite full, so I was forced to employ my special separate dessert stomach for this little lot (and also for my 2nd plateful). Remember they are mini!
It was a fab meal and we enjoyed it even more than dinner there the night before.
Our fellow DISers were lovely too and our excellent servers took photos of us all using everyone’s camera in turn. We were joined for a group photo by some more DISers who were also having brunch at the same time. Once everybody had handed their cameras over to the two servers who were taking the group photos, they pretended they were going to do a runner with all the cameras.
After brunch, Tony and I changed and went up on deck to sunbathe/swim and read our books. Joh, Gary and Nat hung out by the adult pool while the kids played in the Mickey pool.
Nat, Matthew and Ellie:
At 2.30 there was a smoothie meet in the Cove Café, organised by a couple of members of the ‘Parley’ group. Joh went and enjoyed a yummy chocolate smoothie, courtesy of Wendy (runskyhy) and Mike (UnderDog) who very kindly paid for all the smoothies for the group.
Around 4.30 we had a snack of burger and fries and ice-creams and then we went to watch a presentation about Disney Imagineers.
At 6.15 we all met up again at to watch today’s show “Villains Tonight” which we all enjoyed.
Then it was time to get ready for tonight’s meal at Animator’s Palate. We had decided it would be fun to dress in black and white to match the restaurant. The colours of the restaurant change from black and white to colour as the meal progresses and the servers change their clothes to match.
Mickey popped in:
It was “Halloween night” tonight so there were lots of children dressed up and going trick or treating around the ship which was very sweet.
After dinner we went to the late night cabaret to see John Charles who was entertaining with guitar playing and jokes. Strangely, we appeared to be the only Brits in the audience so were highlighted by him. The other Brits obviously had the sense to keep quiet!
Tomorrow: A fabulous day in St Maarten
