My 3 year old daughter didnt nap yesterday, so she went to bed just before 7. Hubby and I were watching a movie and she was majorly cranky so I brought her to bed and put on her movie and gave her a milk sippy. I usually go in before I go to bed and remove the milk cup before I go to bed. A little after 9 she wakes and complaining of a belly ache and lays down with me and decided she wants to go back to bed. A few minutes later, I hear a cough, a mommy and puking. I go running in there and she is sitting there puking. I have a major gag reflux and the one thing I cannot deal with it milk puke. :crazy2: I call for hubby, as I am gagging myself as my daughter is crying "mommy hold me" As soon as my husband comes in the room, i bolt. He manages to undress her and I start a tub. The poor guy gets to clean up all the pukes sheets while I bath her.

I feel like such a bad mommy. I couldnt even comfort my daughter when she was puking. :( What makes it worse is that while I was remaking her bed, is that I found a milk cup from when she was playing in her room ealier that day and the cup I gave her at bed was still full. Which means she drank ROTTEN MILk! :crazy2:

I did get better during the night. I managed to clean the room the next time she puked a bit later and slept with her on the futon all alnight. She seems fine but then coughs and gags...

My poor baby

I'm right there with you in the Bad Mommy Club. I have the same problem. My DH used to end up cleaning up after both of us. Now my kids are older and they warn me to stay away! :teeth: I comforted them after they were nice and clean. She'll forgive you, I promise.

I cannot handle puke. I throw right up. Since my husband prefers not to clean both mine and my boys he takes over when someone tosses their cookies. I handle other things so it's all even. The boys know they can go to either Daddy or Mommy for snuggles and love when they don't feel good. It works out well. No guilt and you are not a bad mom!

I will join this bad mommy club! My kids, sad as it is, were born to nly get sick at night because God knew that I would freak, panic, and run all in that order. I am so ashamed and hate that when my kids need me most I panic like this. DH is my hero. He cleans, cuddles, holds heads, etc. My kids are older and don't laugh about it because they can see the panic in me but they do stear clear. I had 2 sick this week, only at night, well 1 during the day but 16 yo DD was babysitting and helped him.  Big time ashamed and horrified that I am like this. There really is a phobia out there for this, I heard it on the Oprah show and I also heard her make fun of it, a few years ago. This tarnished her crown for me!

Don't feel so bad. Not only do I have a hyperactive gag reflex to anything that smells unpleasant--vomit, poop, anaerobic infectious material, I work in a profession where I actually (accidentally) get puked, pooped or pussed upon on a regular basis. My husband once threatened not to let me finish medical school because I couldn't handle the dogs diarrhea mess in our bedroom. I find that I can handle just about anything, though, if I hold my breath or wear an OR mask, and wear disposable gloves. I am proud of myself, though. The last time my son was sick, I managed to clean the whole thing up and get him back into a clean bed in about 10 minutes.

Thank you for making me feel better. My daughter is doing better. She now has the " coughing=puking " in her head so every time she coughs, she gags. But she is the one making her gag and other than that she is fine. plus my house smells like major puke, its so gross! Its a good thing I bought new bottles of frebreeze, Lysol, Oust and antibactiral spray! Time to go clean!

I feel compelled to reply and tell you not to give your kids milk or juice in a cup or bottle in bed. My DH is a pediatric dentist and it's really bad for their teeth. The milk pools up in their mouth and sits on their teeth and the sugars in the milk break down their teeth. I know it's a tough habit to break but just give her water instead! Also, she won't be drinking rotten water by accident!!!! :teeth: And then no puking....good for everyone

She only gets the milk in bed while she is watching her movie. Then I take it out. I did try only water but she would scream for her milk till 2 am and I am a wuss. But I did tell her today that only water in bed cuz milk makes you puke at night and her reply was " bed milk yucky, make me puk! Only bed water" So she should be good!

its kinda funny- when she was about a year old and still on a bottle, she got a nasty bug- one night she puked and she told me "bubba make me PUk" and never asked for one agian..
