We have been planning on going to Disney and staying at the GCH in November. I knew the rates had gone up, but I didn't know the 6 day hoppers were going away. And I certainly didn't know they were going away today.

Ironically I booked-or thought I booked-reservations yesterday. The problem was we were in a hurry and on the way out the house and I didn't realize my res didn't go through until I got back on the computer this morning. I didn't give it too much thought, though, until I tried to re-book this a.m., then noticed the rates and park days given had changed. When I couldn't find an option for 6 day hoppers I called Disney right away. That's when I found out the 6 day hoppers were to be no more.

To make it worse, they said there would be no options to extend your 5 day hopper to 6 at the park anymore, without paying a for a full single day hopper price for the 6th day. This plus the raised room price, effectively adds about $400 to the stay since yesterday

Anyway, does anyone have any solutions for this? I tried talking to the supervisor, but was dismissed pretty quickly.

I am in the same boat you are. I have already made airline reservations for 12-2 to 12-7 and assumed I could get a 6 day park hopper........now what?

If you don't mind booking your hotel and tickets seperately, call back and ask for a Passport Plus ticket. From what I'm seeing on the TA site, you can still get them for up to 6 days :)

I'm sorry to say there might not be anything you can do. They announced this a while ago and gave everyone through June 10th to get in on the lower prices, so I don't think they'll give you a break :sad1: Even the other ticket sources are not allowed to sell at the older prices anymore. On the up side, I think 5 days is more than enough time to see everything at DLR (as long as you have a really good plan if you're going Thanksgiving week). Just think that you'll save the money on the extra day and instead go to Knotts, or SeaWorld, or Universal, or the zoo, or the beach, or sit by the pool....There's lots of things to do in S CA. Even in November, the beach can be beautiful. We often have 85 degree days in November and December--they just can't be relied upon :upsidedow

We enjoy 6 day trips the most, and I am really glad we already have a package in place so we will have 6 day hoppers. A 5 day hopper plus a 1 day hopper is $389, I don't know what the 6 day hoppers used to cost... my invoice doesn't have the prices broken out. I guess they really want you to buy the deluxe APs that have hardly any blackout dates (our trip is black-out free) for $469.

Thanks, but we've been doing Disney once a year for about 12 years and we've always done 6 or 7 days in Disney. 5 is never enough for us:) And we have also done the other options you mentioned. The girls have no interest in Knotts or Universal anymore. And SeaWorld and the zoo, too, along with the fact it's too inconvenient of a drive for that single day. And the beach? Cali beaching is too cold in the winter for these Arizonans:) We have a pool. It's Disney or bust.

That said, are you saying that the Passport Plus Kirstin's Mommy mentioned also isn't an option?

The ticket agents on the phone have been telling people they can't upgrade at the park but people are still doing it. They may discontinue the practice at some point but for now they are still allowing at least 6-day hoppers to go up to 8 days. Recent threads have confirmed this. Now I may not bank on it for a November trip, but it's worth keeping your eyes open to see what happens to people looking to upgrade after CL opens.

Hopefully that's still be the case. I did read that on these boards over the last week, so I asked the supervisor I talked to about it. He admitted they've always done that, but said from today on the limit is 5 days, period with absolutely no extensions without paying a full single day price for one day over 5.

Yes, this..... we have decided for our daughters 6 day hopper, when we get to the park, if in fact we can not add the extra 2 days, we will just upgrade her to an annual pass. then we will end up going even more days than originally planned and skip doing other things on other days. On another thread, as recently as yesterday, another DISer actually added on the extra days for only $5. per day to their hopper ticket. I seriously think this is one of those things you just cant get info over the phone about, but have to go to the ticket booth and do it.

Check with a DLR travel agent...they have access to things that some others don't. My travel agent has access to park hopper for 6 days until either today or tomorrow. We are in Vancouver, BC. She is with BCAA (expedia cruis ship centers) or AAA if you are in the States. Good luck!!!!! :cheer2:

You can also try your local supermarkets, some still have the tickets at the old prices.

That being said, some people have reported that they have still been able to add extra days for about $5 per day.

Thanks for all the replies, folks.

An update: right after I posted the issue here I sent an email to a Disney exec address I found on the internet. Within an hour and a half I got a call from someone within customer services who said he was forwarded the email and apologized and promised he would call me today with a solution. He did in fact call this morning and said they were able to temporarily bypass the system and set the offer I tried to book on Sunday-6 day hoppers with the old prices (which I didn't even mention).

I understood the problem was my own, and I understood I should have made sure my initial reservation went through before I stepped out of the house. But I was a little frustrated with the supervisor I talked to when trying to find a resolution. He was inattentive; not even really listening to what I was trying to convey. And frankly, more dismissive than I'd expect anyone from Disney to be. But the gentleman who since helped me out was just the opposite. He was pretty impressive.

Enjoy your pixie dust! pixiedust:

I just booked today and have a 6 night package with a 7 day hopper. They were $259/adult and the agency said they aren't getting rid of that option. As long as a package is booked, but you will have to book their package. Hopefully that helps
PS. I'm in Canada
Yeah, I believe this is ONLY available to Canadians.
