Bad kisser FINAL UPDATE LAST PAGE!

Well that's good! As tough as the conversation probably was for him (and probably you), at least he knows that you're going to be honest with him and that it wasn't such a huge thing that you'd not want to see him again. He probably already felt like he didn't do such a good job, now he knows it's fixable. :)

Exactly. I said to him that this shows I like him because I DO want to work on it.

They look like dogs eating peanut butter.

This clip makes me crack up, and l love reference to it as two dogs eating peanut butter!

Hey Kimblebee, I am glad that you were able to talk about and are making a go of it!!!!

Sounds like inexperience and insecurity more than just being a BAD kisser!!!

BTDT with the guy without a lot of experience....
I kind of had to take the lead.
I just want to throw this in here...
If he is an adult, and is that inexperienced and awkward... Well, I wonder if there may be some other things involved. I guess I am saying that, if you do get into a serious relationship and consider a future with this kind of guy. Expect that that inexperience, lack of finess and maturity, might mean that you will have to be taking the lead with a lot more than kissing.... ;)

I remember I had been a mentor to a young girl. As she went into high school, and was halfway expecting her first kiss, she actually kind of asked me about it... After hearing everyone's tales of the big 'aggressive' bad kisser, with their lips, tongue, and teeth halfway down one's throat... :crazy2: It is too funny... Cause I remember telling her... "You know, whatever you may be thinking and have seen like on videos, tv, etc... people really going at it... You don't want to do that... Just start very small and gentle and easy.... ;)

Oh, come on. It couldn't be any worse than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp-jZyzQSms

I, personaly, don't like French kissing or with tongue - I just don't (and I have kissed a few frogs in my time). I would be totally put off with some guy jamming his tongue down my throat including my husband of 12 years! I like the teaching idea and giving him another chance. I remember my husband and I's first kiss not being all that, but then we fell in a groove and have been groovy ever since :love2:

I couldn't even finish the video it was so bad to watch.

DH was an awful kisser when we met, but now he's fantastic! Give him some time, there's always hope.

Sounds like the bad kissers were guys who crammed their tongues down the girl's throat.

At least that how my first kiss was - yuck!!

Guys, be tender and keep your mouth mostly closed at first and for god's sake, keep your tongue to yourself. Work your way into French kissing, naturally, not forcefully.

OP, I would do what another poster did, control the kiss yourself, take his face in your hands and keep control.

I didn't even have to watch the clip... this comment and I know EXACTLY what clip it is! :lmao:

I couldn't even watch it when I saw the show on TV, it made me feel all wrong inside, lol.

i think you might have more success with getting him to be a better kisser if you let him know how you like to be kissed instead of telling him that his kissing was bad.

I think you should give him another chance. When he kisses you, just kiss him like you like to be kissed...or tell him how you like to be kissed. If you tell him he was bad, or you didn't like, he will be so self conscious that he will even have a more difficult time. Good luck!

So, final update.

I did talk to him and explained that it was a little rough and forward for my liking. I did it as nicely as possible. I think he was embarrassed but was glad that I told him.

He came over today for a while and OMG things are much better! :cool1:

Thanks for all the suggestions and stories.

I just have to tell you I got into a fit of giggles while kissing my Dh last night, thinking of this thread!!!

:rotfl:

At which time, our 4yo decided to wedge herself between us, and that ended that moment!!! :lmao:

Yes, there is another update to this thread.

On Sunday, October 27 he asked me to marry him and I said YES!

We don't have a specific date picked out yet but are thinking late next year. That will give us time to find a place to live and to save up for the wedding. It won't be anything huge, he doesn't want that. I had my big wedding already and looked at how it turned out (divorce). He loves my daughter and she loves him so I have all that I need.

Thanks so much to everyone who offered the original advice. It was obviously spot on!

CONGRADULATIONS!:cool1:

What a wonderful update! So happy for you and glad to hear your daughter loves him too:thumbsup2

It's funny, when I opened this up I remembered seeing it back in February. Before I skipped to page 4, I thought I bet she ends up marrying him. Happy to see your post! Congratulations!
