Is it ok to give a Christmas themed decoration as a holiday gift (ornament, wreath, wall hanging) even though the person won't be able to use the gift until the next Christmas season?
I found a Christmas item that I think a friend might like, but I can't decide if it's a bad idea to give a gift that the person can't use for nearly a year.

). I get up early on T-day and put the new Santa gift out where she can find it, so she can enjoy it for the season. So, no, don't give the thought of a Christmas-themed gift a second thought.
She'd really admired a similar gift I'd given to someone else recently so I thought it would make a nice gift for her as well. I'll get a little something else to go with it that she can use for herself sooner like some pretty earrings or something, lol. Come next fall she'll really love having them - they're beautiful pilgrim type/fall colored carved statues. I have some as well and I love putting them out with my fall things.
I never complained, but I always thought it was kind of ridiculous.
