Ive been rethinking whether or not to go to the cp because ive been hearing of some people who have had really bad experiences there....what should i do? I really really like disney but i dont want the cp to ruin it for me....

You are the only person who knows what you should do, but if you never go, you'll never know.

Personally, I hate WONDERING what would've happened if I had done something.

It's true that some people hate it and even end up self-terming, but it's also true that people makes lifetime friends and never want to leave. Just go with realistic expectations (ie: it's not a huge vacation, you will have to work) and I think you'll do fine. Make the BEST of things! Be social, don't be an apartment hermit. ;)

The CP will only be a great experience if you let it. If you go with a negative attitude, then you won't have any fun. If you go with the mindset that you will have fun and meet amazing people, then it will be the best thing you have ever done! I was worried about going too, but it ended up being the best decision I ever made!

ok thanks :) Yeah i realize that its going to be work, but im still really wanting to go. I am really looking forward to meeting new people :)

Its not just Disney. But anywhere and everywhere you go, whether it be high school, college, a vacation, or whatever, there's going to be people who hate it and people who love it. Don't let the haters ruin things for you. Nobody says you have to accept their view, because their views are based on their own experiences relative to their own expectations and values.....not yours. And a lot of it has a lot to do with our expectations. I've found that it helps to lower expectations (hard to do indeed!), so that way we find things to be better than we thought they would be.

Okay then, don't let other people change your mind! Life is what you make it. :)

I went to my CP with relatively high expectations, but also with the attitude that I will get out of it what I put in to it. Never once have a regretted my decision to do a CP, in fact it might have been one of the best decisions I have made.

And yes I know that some people have a bad time, some people are just so-so, and some love it. I feel I got lucky. I loved most of my roommates, I loved where I worked, and I loved the people I worked with. I even went seasonal when I left because I did not want to let the experience end.

I think it would be worse to wonder what could have been, than to go down to FL and decide working at Disney isn't for you and that's that.

I've done the CP 4 times (going on my 5th in Aug), and I haven't really had any bad experiences. I love working at Disney. I hope to go FT after my CP ends.

Like the others said, the CP is what you make of it. At least give it a try (you don't want to regret not doing it).

if you love disney and dont mind workin put your stunner shades on and block the hate :cool1:

I was in the same boat...until I decided I couldn't handle another year of convincing myself not to go. It's going to be hard work, but you're going to be a part of the Disney magic. That in itself will be a fantastic experience. Plus, you'll meet a ton of neat people and have an impressive resume.

I say do it!

Not going to lie, I had a fairly bad experience on my program but I do not regret doing it for a second. It did not ruin the magic of Disney, but I did lose a little respect for how some things are run. But you have to take the bad with the good, don't expect too much, and just try to have fun. It's a good learning experience regardless of what happens.
