Has anyone else found the knot (especially the etiquette section)..

I have found nothing redeeming about the boards other than cussing and yelling and singling about newbies, i canceled my account before my first post was ever made lol

Yes. It is appears that everyone is defensive and wants to attack you. I made the mistake of asking a question and I was basically called a cold hearted, because I picked the bridesmaids dress instead of letting them pick it from the two choices and horrible I was because I asked them to purchase them 2 months earlier than usual. needless to say I will never go back to them.

The local boards can be very helpful for specific vendors, but the national boards are nasty! Now that I'm married I've looked at the nest and they are the same way.

The Knot is a scary place! I stuck to my local board and actually started a book club with girls I met there - 3 1/2 years later, they are some of my best friends. We were all engaged or newly married and new to our town. So don't give up on the Knot - just stay away from the national forums!

I've only read bad things about the Knot boards because I've never had the patience to stay and deal with their badly designed pages. I love the Disboards and WeddingBee :goodvibes

I really like the information there, and the ideas that the page has, I just stay away from the forum, coz I'm scared I'll get picked on

the people on the knot boards are so trashy, they just want to pick fights and put down everyone's wedding. I went on there to defend a dis bride once and that is it. She was getting made fun of by a girl who wore matching camoflage outfits with her fiance for their engagement photos (deer heads and all).... that should pretty much sum up the caliber of people on the knot boards right there.

The Knot REALLY REALLY makes me want to hurl something through the computer monitor. I got some ideas for colors (my wedding dress is purple and I'm aiming for purple with silver trim for colors at our reception) but I haven't been on there in months.

(I left the honeymoon planning to the fiancee, we were at WDW in '02 and figured our honeymoon was a pretty good excuse to return!)
