Bad Experience at POFQ

Our Mousekeeping experience there in July '05 wasn't much better. Didn't notice any hair but the floor was not vaccuumed the entire time we were there and noticed some teddy grahams by the wastebasket at arrival. Luckily our girls were older and just went "ewwww" rather than "yum" :rotfl:

Wow, that's crazy. What's crazier is that it seems like your experience is the same as the other bad experiences at POFQ! We've never stayed there (definitely prefer Riverside!), but I have no desire to, especially now.

Ours were cheez-it crackers just under the edge of the bed and POR and they were there the entire week we were! There is no way a vacuum cleaner would have missed them!

I could be wrong, but I thought I read before that they only vacuume between guests, they don't vaccume during your stay. Of course it sounds like they didn't do either in your case, but that would be why they stayed there the whole time.

From all the research I've done, POFQ has a great reputation. We'll be staying there in March '09 and I'm optimistic that this is an isolated incident. The smaller size (relative to the other WDW resorts) really appeals to me.

BTW, I have heard of more and more people taking their own bed linen (I know that's not an option if you're flying). Not a bad idea!

Yup, we had similar problems with POR! And the manager was a complete JERK! But they refused to help us relocate to another resort!! PURE frustration, esp. when you are spending that much $$$$!

that stinks!

My fam and I had problems with what we call now the "Worst Western" on I-Drive (its beside the 2nd embassy suites going west on I-4).....we had a terrible room the first time, we wrote a letter, and got another free night in the future......went back, still smelled and was not enjoyable.....and now it has turned to an off brand hotel....hmmm wonder why? ;)

We really enjoy POFQ, we have almost made it our resort of choice......we've never had any problems.....lets hope they remedy the situation!

I've stayed at both POR and POFQ and both stays were great. I think the OPs experience. while unfortunate, was the exception. I think time of year is somewhat of a factor, too.

I actually found the staff pleasant while at both resorts. I wonder if the manager in the OP was new? At any rate, he/she should not have been rude. I have bad days/difficult patients at my job and as much as I'd like to tell some of them to take a flying leap, when you work with the public you need people skills. Not saying anyone should tolerate abuse. But, in the hospitality business, I don't think it's too much to ask that the hotel staff be hospitable, KWIM?

Yuck! We had a similar experience in Sept at OKW. Very dirty bathroom, toothpaste in sinks, dirty whirlpool tub, nasty stuff on bedspread, crumbs on carpet, etc. We called and complained, and they came and cleaned the room while we were out, but not until the next day.

In hindsight I wish we had complained about it a little more. The person I initially spoke with was very apologetic, but directed me toward Mousekeeping. I left a message for them, and it was the next afternoon when they finally cleaned the room, with no apology. The bed was nasty, but we always take our own bedding. For some reason it really didn't bother me too much until I got home and thought about it.
