I have been given the Disney Visa referral cards where the new card holder gets $200 after they spend $500 in the first 3 months and I get a $50 bonus. It's the regular card with no fee. In the last year, I've received these referral cards twice and had 5 people open new cards. Unfortunately, a friend tried to use the referral today and had a terrible experience. She sent me the following in an email to tell me just how awful it was:
"I had a rough go with the Chase Visa people...they refused to give us the promo that you sent. Literally argued with us via phone....indicating as I read to them what I had, that it was similar to an advertisement on a billboard. Justin, the manager, was a complete jerk. He changed his story from the billboard advertisement line to saying I had to use a link as soon as you sent that to the card being offered was the one with an annual fee. It was not a pleasant or pretty conversation. OMG (still fuming at the lack of customer service)."
Anyone heard of such difficulty when using a referral before? I haven't and I'm appalled to hear they would treat a potential customer in such a way.
