Ok
DO you ever have days from hell?

Well i just have and yep i really blew my Diet BIG time:eek:

Long story

Went to work(feeling very nervous and excited about first weigh in as i am not very good with failure)

Weighed in on scales in chemist next door to work..."Disaster" no weight lost!!!!

Ok i am now seriousley depressed and ready after "2 weeks " of following Atkins to the letter, to throw the towel in (not just the towel but the whole bundle!!)

There is no possible reason for this, so i call my best mate.....she gives me the " there there treatment" (she tries every reason on earth that i could of stayed the same...I am still really fed up...and have no reasonable explanation for lack of weight loss!!)

Ok then my boss decides to pick on me...bear in mind i am not a happy bunny (and really hatee this job)...
So I then throw the towel in again

I get up and QUIT my job!!
"oh Dear"

I finnish my day go home CRY for an hour "more with frustration about weight than job" (i have 2 jobs and i love the other one so the job quitting was inevitable really, just happend rather quickly)
Ok here comes the worst bit
Then i go and eat 2 ...yep 2 bags of skittles and 2 bags of crisps....
and the skittles were FAMILY bags

So now where do i go from here..
.... it is morning and i being a woman have had a normal monthly event happen this morning !!!! i was not due for another week...this explains the lack of weight loss!!!
So now a feel a failure and a fool and i need some advice and a hug and and and and:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sorry i am not normally so highley strung ..i just needed to own up to what had happened
Hope you all had a better Monday than me LOL
Take care Nikki x

Oh Nikki here are some {{{{hugs}}}} for you. You are not a failure and you are certainly not a fool. You are a success you are working toward a goal and there will be bad days along with lots of good days, don't let one bad day destroy your efforts. So now you just have to say to yourself OK that was what happened yesterday and it is gone, now I am going to make today different I am going to have a successful day. I think you do Atkins, is that right? I don't do Atkins so I can't help as far as advising you what to do regarding what you eat. I just want to to feel successful because you have recognised that you have a weight problem and you have decided to do something about it. Stay with your programme and next week you will have a weight loss.

Sorry for the bad day! I feel your pain after the week/weekend I had. But we both have to say this is a new day and start new from here on in. You can do it! Just keep trying!:)

Nikki {{{Hugs}}} caming your way. Sorry to hear that yesterday was so bad. It is now in the past - you can't take back what you ate so put it behind you.

Start today fresh! Follow your plan and the weight will come off.

Glad to hear that you have another job that you enjoy - that really helps!

Here's hoping that today is a much better day for you!

Gee, Nikki, are you SURE your day was all that bad?? I know it felt awful at the time but....when looking back, there were some good things that happened, right?

You quit a job you hated!! Now you'll have less stress in your life, right? If you really need a second job, you can find one you like!

You got on the scale and it didn't go up!! You've been eating healthy foods and treating your body well for 2 whole weeks and you didn't gain!! In a few days, I think the scale will be your friend again, after your monthly event is over.

I can't find a good side to the binging on skittles & crisps - so you might not want to do that anymore... :p

Hang in there, Nikki! {{ Hugs }} to you and wishes for a better and brighter day today!! We're in this for the long term - this is just a minor bump in the road!

Thanks for the support Guys...it is sooo nice having u round :D

And Doreen.."you made me laugh..no i mean you {{REALLY}} made me laugh

Thanks ;)
nikki x

Boy, you had a busy day ;)
Just start over tomorrow, so what you had a bag or 2 of skittles, just put it behind you, and keep doing atkins......
Best of luck, and don't beat yourself up.....

:jester: Glad I could help, Nikki!! :jester:

I'd rather see you laughing with us than crying into those bags of skittles & crisps!! :teeth:

Weighed in on scales in chemist next door to work..."Disaster" no weight lost!!!!

Is this the same scale that you weighed in on two weeks ago? Was it exactly the same time of day? Were you wearing the exact same clothes?

I would be willing to bet that you've lost at least 5 pounds, but it's showing up different on a different scale, or your current clothes weigh more, or it's a different time of day so you could be carrying water weight.

Is it around TOM? If so, you will be carrying water weight because of that too!

Don't worry - and take the towel back!!! You are healthier because you've been eating well for the last 2 weeks! And, you are losing weight! You just didn't see it when you stepped on the scale this time. Keep up the good work! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Two family bags of skittles! I hope the guar gum in them doesn't have the same effect on you that it has on DH's digestive system.

I hope you're feeling happier now. It's amazing how much power food and weight has over our emotions.

Libby

Hope today was better. I agree with Doreen, the day was not too bad, no gain and quit a horrible job. I think your scale will show some loss next week, check your measurements. You can always try the atkins fat fast, it's in the book.
I know the sun will be shining for you soon:Pinkbounc

{{{Hugs}}} Nikki. I hope things are better now. One thing is for sure--your former boss will think twice before picking on a pre-TOM worker, especially one who is already not a happy bunny! (Not that Boss would know about preTOM! He should just avoid picking on anyone to be safe!)

You did read the WISH by-laws didn't you?? I'm pretty sure it's in the by-laws that WISH members are never failures OR fools, no matter how badly they may feel. The past is over, you now have a new day and a clean slate!! In fact, you probably already *have* lost and TOM is giving you water retention that is masking your loss. I'll bet in another week, you will see a difference!!

{{{{Nikki}}}} I really do dislike days like that, I am so sorry that you had one. I can not explain not losing anything in two weeks, my only guess is water retention because of TOM. Don't throw in the towel yet, after TOM goes away I would hope you would show a loss. And I think Rhonda made a good point, if you used a different scale and had on different clothes it makes a difference, even the time of day makes a difference. That is why I always weigh in at the same time, on the same scale in the same clothes. And don't feel foolish, some of us still emotional eat from time to time, just think that today is a new day and move forward. Onward and downward!!!

See, here's the problem as I see it.... you are weighing yourselves in clothes. I always weigh myself, naked, after I go to the bathroom (no extra water weight.)

Alright, so I'm being tongue in cheek with that response. I know that you can't weigh-in someplace out of your home with no clothes on.

What the others have said is true, especially if you are retaining fluid. Another thing Atkins recommends is taking measurements. The book says that you can be losing inches while not losing weight. How do your clothes feel? Mine feel different, so I know I'm losing.

Keep up the work, Nikki. You'll be the winner in the end!

Nikki, I didn't read your post until now... but I just wanted to let you know that I can totally identify with you. I have "blown" it for the same reason before. Several times, actually. Tomorrow is my weigh-in day and I started my monthly today. Ugh. I get so hungry around this time. But anyway, don't worry about what is in the past, that's why it's called the past, because it's over now. Start anew. Tomorrow is a brand new day and a fresh new beginning. Good Luck. :-)

One day is not a failure and won't destroy your weight loss.

If you are trying to lose weight but only diet and exercise one day a week, do you think you will lose anything?...no.

So, the opposite is true. It's only one day:D

Oh, I LOVE this philosophy! I am going to write that down. Thank you for sharing it and not just thinking it!

I was going to start a thread for encouragement today. The scale stayed constant over this past weekend, although I still watched everything. I know that I shouldn't fret it, but I needed to "hear" it from someone else.

You are my motivation today!

Thanks, JM!
