at least I assume its a virus. dh started with it on saturday and we thought at first it might be allergies (he gets bad seasonal ones) until the fever/chills started up. now I have it and just found out my MIL has it and several of her friends have it. I'm guessing its just a rotten virus that is circulating.

anyone else have this? hopefully we'll be better soon...I'm hosting easter and have a lot to do still.

I think my DBF has it. He told me yesterday that he was sick all weekend and not "feeling up to par" yesterday and today when I hadn't gotten any emails from him by noon, I decided to call him and leave a message saying I hoped he felt better but when I called he picked up the phone and told me he was home sick.....Poor baby. I'm going to go take care of him after work.

I have had it for 4 weeks! It is a nasty cold that just won't go away! I am getting a little better every day. I would advise going to the doctor and get medicine early. Don't be like me and wait until you get bronchitis.

My DS has that, the fever and chills only lasted a couple of days, the coughing and congestion is a whole other story :sad2:

My DS has this. It started on Thursday evening in the middle of the night. He had the "shakes." On Friday, he had a low-grade fever all day. On Saturday, his temperature was 102.5 and the coughing started. This went on all weekend. Yesterday (Monday), the fever finally dropped into the 101 range but the coughing and snot are worse. Today, he is down into the 99.5 range and the cough is awful. It has now triggered his asthma.

I don't know what this is but DD has been into the pediatrician twice and they still won't give him anything. Not sure if an antibiotic would work.

My DD11, DD7 and I all started with something like this last night. It was all within an hour or two of each other that we started with scratchy throats, body aches, headaches and chills. No fevers so far but whatever this is, I hope it passes quickly ~ my kids start Easter Break this weekend and I'd hate to see them all housebound and miserable the whole week :sad2: .

I think my DH has this too. We were on a cruise last week and on Saturday night he was complaining of a slight tickle in his throat. Sunday he had a sore throat and a cough, then later in the day he was really stuffy. We thought it was allergies acting up. Yesterday I got him Allergy meds but by the time he got home in the afternoon he was achy and sounds horrible. THe cough is awful and I think he has a fever today. He sounds terrible... praying he doesn't give it to me b/c with the vacation I don't have any sick time!

::yes:: I had this 2 weeks ago. I thought it was a cold to begin with, but it turned in to a fever and aching, it was horrible, I couldn't think straight (Felt like my head was full of fluff, KWIM?) and had NO energy. It lasted about 8 days from start to finish :sad2:

Add me to the list. Mine started Sunday night with a slight tickle in my throat and got progressively worse. I am aching so bad and the cough is horrible. I think I got it from staying at my FIL this weekend. He usually keeps it about 65 degrees. He starts sweating if it gets to 70. He runs the air 24/7/365. I still haven't thawed out yet. We have winter clothes that we wear while we're there and then change into temperature appropriate clothing right before we leave. I get sick everytime we stay overnight.

We all had this about a month ago and got antibiotics - and my kids are still coughing. It started with a sore throat, then it gets really bad, and then you get your energy back but the cough sticks around awhile. I feel tons better now, tho. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

I came down with it eight days ago. It's getting really depressing, I was just feeling truly better after the asthmatic episode that nailed me for over a week, and now this. At least I can breathe, and even on the worst days of this cold my flowmeter was within the normal range.

Now a girl I work with has it, and so does my son--he's feeling really lousy--got sent home early from work yesterday and hasn't really moved from his bed since.
