Bad Cholesterol Numbers?

Does anyone have any sites where I can look at to check healthy cholesterol levels?

Just got a letter from the heath insurance company regarding hubby's physical and he was bumped to the next level.

Looks like its high I am just not sure how bad it is and what all these numbers mean.

I am going to call his primary Dr Monday but wanted to get some info beforehand.

Here is what my blood test said for norms

Total Cholesterol < 200
Triglycerides < 150
HDL Cholesterol > 39
LDL Cholesterol < 100

My cholesterol is 204, but my triglycerides are high, and I'm allergic to the only med that works well for triglycerides

Here are his... so I am guessing they are very high?

Cholesterol 256
Triglycerides 322
HDL 38
LDL 154
chol/hdl ratio 6.7

Based on what our hospital lab uses for values, his total cholesterol would be considered elevated ( 200 is the cutoff), and his triglycerides would be high (also has 200 as a cutoff). His HDL would be good (you worry about it being too low, not too high, and I can't remember the cutoff exactly), and his LDL would be high (less than 150 is recommended)

He is elevated, but definitely not in the horrible range. Most of our doctors would tell him to try diet and exercise, and recheck in 3 months.
