Bad C.S. at Coral Reef- December 28

We have reservations to this restaurant in April ... good to hear the comments on both sides. Our kids were quite thrilled with the idea of eating in an aquarium .... so good, bad or otherwise, I'm sure our kids will be thrilled!

We ate there in Dec 08 and have decided not to go back....

We organised a menu and diver for my Father - they were both great!! They were running a little behind in seating us, which we didn't mind too much - 20 minute wait or so....

Our server was useless. Took forever to take a drink order, and then forever to come and take our food order. Whe he did, I checked he had my cheese allergy on the notes - he said he'd be back in a minute. He was gone for AGES. When he came back he wanted the food order, I asked about some of the food items and sauces as I had no idea if some of them had cheese - he said to order what I want and the chef won't put cheese in it. Ok. So I asked him what some of the sauces were like. He couldn't tell me. In the end I asked for steak and chips (fries) - no sauces or sides. And it was the worse food I had in the whole fortnight. The steak was ok, but tough for medium, but I was hungry and the Fries were covered in salt - they were inedible. We all had dessert as we were so hungry but we ended up snacking later on!!

Oh and I almost forgot - the boys had starters (I declined) and when the entrees arrived we had to stack and move the plates out of the way ourselves. They they sat there till we finished our entrees and THEN they were moved!! Disgraceful.

Never again will we eat at, or recommend the Coral Reef.

Wow! I didn't realize that my experience at CR was so very similar to others. We had a very large party (10 people and one 3 year old.) We were celebrating my bachelorette party with my best friends and family. Because this was a large event we had ADR's for ages. My party checked in 15 minutes before our reservation time (as advised). We ended up waiting 2 hours for our table. My mother and her best friend checking the entire time. While we were waiting we ended up sharing 3 soft pretzels and 2 slushies, from the stands around us. We were prepared to wait, but 2 hours was way too much. I would have been all for leaving, but trying to get 10 women to agree is not always easy. Once we were seated we had the rudest waiter, totally disinterested and unhelpful. It was almost impossible to get refills on our drinks and my meal was deemed inedible by everyone at the table. Oh well. We won't be returning to CR in the future.

so sorry some have had bad experiences there but it really does just depend on the day/time/other diners, etc.

We had a fine time there in January for lunch. We were seated promptly (maybe a 5 minute wait on a 12:10 ADR for lunch, we checked in right at noon.) Good service, good food. We were on an upper tier but had good enough views of the tanks - didn't see anyone doing the bit about crowding the diners at the tank-side tables.

Course they don't do the divers anymore, right? that should help to keep the crazies away.

We went for free dining the past two years. The first year we had horrible service. The second year we called looking for a cancellation to anywhere in Epcot and they had Coral Reef. It ended up being one of the best meals of our trip. We had a wonderful waitress. I guess you just never know what to expect...... Sounds like this place is either a hit or miss. I can't believe some of the waits you mentioned. How awful.

We ate there in May of 07. Suffice it to say that I would I would rather bounce across Epcot on a pogo stick at high noon NAKED before I'd ever set foot in that festering cestpool of rudeness again. JMO.
