Bad backs?

My fabulous parents are taking my DH, son (5) and daughter (2) to WDW this August.

(side note question...how do I put one of those great "count downs" in my posts?)

Dad loves rides but has a bad back. A flare up coud certainly ruin the trip. What rides should he avoid? He was hoping to do Tower of Terror and I can't remember how jerky the stop is. From reading other posts I guess the dinosaur ride is out. He's been on Space Mountain so he can judge that himself.

Thunder mountain? Splash mountain?
What else?

Thanks so much! I am thrilled that I found these boards because if I don't shut up about WDW my husband may kill me!

I would say Splash Mountain shouldn't be a problem. I don't think Tower of Terror would either, especially since they've gone to seat belts and taken out the lap bars. Depends on how bad his back is, I guess.

If it's bad, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Rock N' Roller Coaster should all definitely be out. My GF has had very minor back problems, but she was hurting one E-Ride night where we did the first two several times.

Dinosaur out as well, I agree. When in doubt, follow the warnings they have at such rides.

I would also add Primeval Whirl to the list it's very jerky...and slings you around in the seat.

It isn't as jerky as the other rides mentioned, but the safari at Animal Kingdom can be a little jerky at the end. If your dad's back is extremely bad, he may want to skip this (which would be just awful!!!! It is a great ride!).

Depending on where you sit in the simulator, Star Tours and Body Wars can be a little rough on an 'iffy' back as well...
