Bad asthma/allergies? Stay here!

I was reading through the Wyndham Palace Resort's web site (DTD area) and saw this. I thought I'd pass it along:

Evergreen Rooms
65 guest rooms have been converted to Evergreen Rooms, which are smoke-free, odor-free rooms featuring the latest technologies recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The rooms feature individual air cleaning systems, filtered tap water, non-allergenic pillows and blankets, non-dyed bathroom tissues, towels and linens.

I haven't stayed here (yet) but this sounds like heaven to those with allergies, and it must be good for asthma sufferers too.

What a great idea! Of course, non-smoking rooms are quite common but "odor free" would be wonderful. I can't tell you how many times we've checked into a hotel room only to be assaulted by a overwhelming scent from air freshener or carpet cleaner. We can't be the only ones who don't want a room that smells like perfume.

Not a hotel story, but we recently saw a show on Broadway. DW and DD needed to use the ladies room. As we approached the rest rooms, the scent from the ladies room was easily smelled several feet away. My wife was gagging by the time she got out of there and needed to use her asthma inhaler. I don't know who thinks stuff like that is a good idea.

We've had similar problems attending religious services. We pick out a good seat and inevitably someone comes along and sits near us and forces us to move because they've bathed in perfume.

These rooms have been around for years. We stayed in an "evergreen room" back in 2001. We wanted filtered water for our son's formula and my husband is also an asthma sufferer.

I have a big problem with mold and mildew - I got very sick.

so far all the hotels we have stayed at - if a room has this problem we were quickly moved.
