My kids (and a friend who spent the night)cooked bacon (theyre off due to Presidents Day – theyre ALWAYS off due to something…it’s absurd! Get them prepared for the real world – school everyday 9-5!!!! I’m not off when my managers have a meeting, nor do my managers have “institute days” ARGH!)

Anyways – BACON! They cooked Bacon! WHY!?!? Im afraid to go home – they’ll be grease everywhere.

<<<sobbing>>>

Then I said WHY did you cook BACON?!?! We have sausage – why didn’t you make sausage?!?!?

Oh – we made that too.

Im glad they rummaged through the fridge, like scavengers, and ate like kings!

My kitchen is going to be empty and dripping with bacon grease. Im never going home again.

Sign me ~
Irritated!

Not only will it be messy but it will smell real tasty too :rotfl2:

Oh, I dread the day when I have to leave my kids home by themselves

Awwww...just give yourself a pat on the back that your kids know how to cook! :thumbsup2 And...call back to remind them that you need soap to clean the grease off of every surface in the entire kitchen, if not the entire house! not just a papertowel... :headache:

Be happy they didn't burn popcorn in the microwave.

(Mom was NOT happy that day. :guilty: )

At least they cooked for themselves and didn't call and whine about there being no food in the house. Even though the pantry is full and the freezer 1/2 full. Maybe mention to them that part of cooking is cleaning up the stove. :thumbsup2 Shoot I think I'd call and tell them while they're in the cooking mood to start dinner this afternoon.

Mmmmm ~ You just made me hungry for BACON!!!!!

BLTs for dinner tonight! :thumbsup2

Isn't it funny? I thought when I started leaving my kids home alone I would worry about things like fire, burglars, medical emergencies. Instead I have to worry about things like them leaving a FULL GALLON of milk on the kitchen counter all day in July.

Or...in your case...bacon grease. Ya...that's gonna stink!

EXACTLY! I had the fridge door left open one day, when I got home.

"Oh - we didnt even notice"

You dont notice the fridge door wide open - not cracked - OPEN??? You didnt walk into the kitchen, AT ALL, all day?!??! It wasnt open when I left this morning.

"Seriously - we didnt even notice."

Kids - they have "I dont care" blinders, on. :confused3

Alright - something is up....

I called them back (cuz being the mature Mom I am, had *accidently* hung up on them earlier - ahem - ) And I asked - is it terribly messy?

Mom, it's cleaner then when you left - we loaded the dishwasher!

Hmmmm - what kind of disaster are they attempting to cover up with this spontanious, unplanned dishwasher loading??

Just ignore the water backing up in the dishwasher due to the grease clog... they are good kids...really...

Sounds like your in for a Surprise when you get home! :duck:
