Hi,

Which of these meals would be best to do with 1 grandma, 4 adults and 4 kids (6,5,4,2)? We are going in july of next year...would the BBQ be to hot and buggy (isnt it outside?)?

Please leave your advice and some descriptions of what goes on during these events so we can plan and get the kids excited!!

thanks, wendy::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

We took DD4 to the Hoop de doo and she had a ball. Lots of singing and dancing. Lots of audience interaction. She loved yelling with the crowd. A little on the slap stick side, but lots of fun.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would pick HDDR. It is a lot of fun and the food is good. Yes, the BYBBQ is outside.

We have done both and I would pick HDD over the BBQ. We did the BBQ in July and it was so hot, too hot to eat a lot. We went with a group of 9 to the HDD, ages ranged from 6 to 55, and everyone loved it. The kids and adults laughed the entire time.

"Hoop" as it is a blast and all ages will enjoy it. The big plus for your time of year will be the AC at the Hoop! No bugs are another bonus! My whole family loves the Hoop.

We have been to both. We LOVE the HDDR and sorry to say this hated the BBQ. The kids were miserable at the BBQ. The kids when they here we are going back to Disney one of the first things they ask canwe go to the HDDR. My 11DS keeps asking for his birthday to go to disney just for the HDDR. Have fun!

What do you think of the Hoop for younger kiddos? I am thinking that the BBQ would be hot too....

I would go with the Hoop Dee Doo, lots of fun and good food. We took our daughter for her first time to HDD when she was 2 1/2 and she absolutely loved it! She really enjoyed the singing and dancing and she would laugh along with the rest of the audience even though she didn't "get" the corny jokes, she just laughed b/c everyone else was.

BYBBQ is OUTDOORS? but HDDR is INDOORS (w/air conditioning)? oh my! that changes things for me dramatically! guess i will be calling the dining line and hoping to change our BYBBQ ressies to a HDDR ressie!

can anyone tell me what HDDR offers for picky kids to eat? the reason we chose BYBBQ was for the hot dogs... but i'd rather buy them a hot dog before or after HDDR rather than sweat and swat bugs all night!

thanks in advance... i knew i loved these boards!

I'm trying to make a final decision on this one too. I've got them both booked right now. I thought my two active kids would like the openness of the BBQ better, but now, I'm beginning to think the HDDR may be better because I don't like the idea of the possible heat in mid-Sept. and also I've heard that it is a bit chaotic at the BBQ. Otherwise the BBQ sounds more appealing to me than HDDR. I haven't done either in the past.

We haven't done the BBQ, but we have done HDDR twice and really enjoyed it both times. DD first went when she was 2 and again at 3. She loved it!!! She laughed and delighted in all the singing and dancing going on. She was thrilled when two of the actors visited our table and had a great time banging on the washboard that everyone gets to play at the end of the show. :) Our DD enjoyed the fried chicken, beans, bread, corn, & bread and starwberry shortcake that were placed at our table (they also serve ribs & salad). Our server also asked if she wanted mac 'n cheese and left DD a bowl of it and told us they had other dishes too for kids who don't like the regular fare. Our DD ate plenty of the regular meal and had a chocolate milk. For adults besides the standard drink options they also serve beer and sangria wine.

Its a very fun show. The first time we went it was just DD, DH and myself and the next time we took both sets of our parents with us too and they had a blast. ::MinnieMo

Ya just can't beat the HDDR. It's so much fun! We've been three times and I just love it. My whole family gets into it and we try to always get seats near the stage. What a blast!

We've done both, and we all enjoyed the HDDR much much more. None of us liked the BBQ -- we have 3 kids and when we did it they were 11, 9, and 5. They were younger when we did HDDR and they loved it!

Our kids our ds 11 ds 5 ds 2 dd 1. We were at the BBQ in 2002 the oldest son 9 then kept asking can we go. We have taken kids to the HDDR from as young as 6ths they all love it a lot of laughs. Food was good and the time flew. The only problem my 3 yr old has was when the singer came over and sat on my husbands lap he cried my daddy. Your kids will love the HDDR and yes Air Conditioning and not a big unorganized mess like the BBQ.

We've been to Hoop Dee Do twice and LOVED it. Last year I scheduled the BBQ, but cancelled it at the last minute. My kids hate being hot...I just had a feeling it wouldn't have been a good time...
