I was on the "New" Backstage Magic Tour 11/9/09.

I may not be very good at telling a story, but I can tell you that I very much enjoyed the tour. I was planning to take notes on my phone but all I created was an empty folder. It seems that Disney is listening to previous tour groups and modifying the tour to make it more enjoyable. I am trying to give an overview without giving all the details or fun facts. We all gathered at Epcot before the park opened (8:45). We were given receivers and an ear piece to wear to hear the two tour guides. There were about 32 people in the group and sometimes we stayed together and sometimes we went in 2 groups.

The beginning was as before with the trip to the rear of Epcot to see the building from our country and how the animatronics. (I would have liked to see the show that day but waited until I could get back later in the week. I was attending a conference that started on Tuesday.)

Next we went to the Magic Kingdom and learned about the windows on Main Street and down into the utilidors where we walked around. This is where my memory gets a little foggy on the order but I hope I don't forget too much. We went to the main shops where the repair and refurbishing work goes on for the rides, they also build floats there.

I think we went to Disney Studios and learned about the Tower of Terror, no ride. There was a great suggestion that we do some team building by playing Toy Story Mania. (But we weren't there to be teams.)

We ate lunch at Whispering Canyon. I would have liked to sit at a table with one of the guides but wasn't that lucky. We went to the costume shops and learned about the costumes. ( I did see the laundry but we went no where near it as previous tours did)

On to Animal Kingdom where we walked through the parade warehouse and learned alot about the parade and the floats. Then on to the nursery to see the topiaries and the many plants. (I recognized some from the time I was there in April during Epcot's Garden Theme.) We then went to a reserved area to see the parade at Animal Kingdom. Then back to Epcot because the day was done (about 4:30)

Would I do the tour again? Yes in a few years when my children are older I think they would enjoy it. Was everything brand new information? No, but I did learn some fun facts.

There is a lot of walking and standing on this tour and some members of the group were very tired by the end of the day.
