What is your go to backpack in the park. We have a 3 yr. old (still in pull ups) and a 4 yr. old looking for recommendations that would fit all our stuff into 1 bag for this family of 4.

are you not bringing a stroller? or is this on top of a stroller? My new disney bag is a disney theme diaper bag we got from walmart but we have no kids .. it just has really nice compartments

We've always liked the Vera Bradley "Campus Backpack" for our parks bag / diaper bag. It's roomy, but soft-sided so it can be squeezed into seat back pockets and that sort of thing. Plus they machine wash really well.

We also rented a side-by-side from Kingdom strollers and utilized the under storage of the stroller and I would carry a standard under armor backpack that was loaded down with everything else.

I always wonder about the economics of stroller rentals... The one time I priced it out, it cost more than if I had literally bought a brand new stroller and had it delivered to our resort. Plus, I find much harder to navigate the airport without having one with me there.

I think I'd have to rent the double 4 or 5 times before buying would be cheaper. We traveled with our cheap umbrella for the 20 month old, and rented a double because our 5 year old doesn't use a stroller at home.

I agree with you on that economics side of things. I think when I calculated out the difference are the time and buying/selling vs renting overall price wise I would come out ahead going the buy/sell route but I just didn't want to deal with hassle of doing so.

We have a rental from Kingdom strollers also, what would you consider safe to keep in the stroller while on rides.

I have heard mixed reviews of leaving things in the stroller.

Cash, wallets, credit cards, phones.

Petty thieves don't spend $150 on theme park tickets to steal your Discover card in an environment with security camera coverage that's second only to Vegas casinos.

Your keeping all that in the stroller? I would have a fanny bag to put all that in while we ride stuff. Or husbands pockets .

There have been a lot of thefts from strollers at WDW. I read that some nefarious people are buying annual passes (therefore not paying huge $$$ to get in) and doing stroller thefts easily (and other types of thievery) Especially disney bags of gifts since they stopped delivering to the resorts. WDW certainly has their share of minor crime. I wouldn't leave anything in my stroller, while on rides, etc.

To answer your original question we just use a regular Jansport backpack we already own.

Regarding what do we leave in strollers? Drinks, bags, coats, souvenirs. Basically anything I don’t want to carry. We’ve never had anything stolen. I wouldn’t leave my phone, wallet, or kid. That’s about it! We put down the sun shade over our belongings when we leave them and always leave the stroller in designated stroller parking. I do try to cover up souvenirs or put them inside the backpack.

I’m with you, personally I bring my backpack in the attraction with me that hs my phone and wallet but literally everything is in the stroller. I’ve never a single time felt like my stuff would get stolen at Disney. I know it’s possible, but it’s not probable.

Edit to answer OP I carry a regular OGIO back pack.

As small of a bag as possible to fit what you only absolutely need to take. You really don't need that much stuff in the parks and having a huge bag is a pain.

Don't leave anything in a stroller that you would be sad to have stolen. They just arrested a couple of men who were stealing from strollers. And they were taking things that people purchased at the stores.

A rule of thumb anywhere is don't leave things you couldn't part with.

The very last thing I would do is leave things that pertain to my identity in a public place, cameras or no cameras. Goodness no way. Also consider things of value from the stroller itself to the bags left there. Over time there are reports of items being taken. You might think your souvenir is what someone might be after but in general it's the mundane things like a bag, cards, or cash, etc. Also a thief does not have to physically have a card to do harm, getting the number and applicable codes on it are enough to start charging and in today's world they go for broke charging as much as possible before the theft is discovered.

A woman's apple watch fell off her in Nemo and Friends ride last month and was unable to retrieve it nor was it found. She had her cards stored on the apple watch and close to $40k of charges have occurred throughout her cards (I think mostly the Amex) just on that day. So yeah don't ever leave your phone, wallet, cash, or cards purposefully in a stroller. That's is just asking for karma to not be on your side.

I would have suggested an Eddie Bauer bag, we used the 20L packable one but for a diaper bag I think that might be too small in the end. I'm not sure if the 30L would do it. We find the backpack (20L at least) to be lightweight and flexible to be carried throughout the day, through rides, etc. The 20L went with us to Universal and held up well in the lockers although it cannot be stuff full to the brim to fit inside it well. I guess maybe check into the 30L option as something perhaps.

When our kids were little we used a Patagonia regular sized backpack. My H and I took turns carrying it. We never left anything of value in the stroller. I always feel very safe at Disney, but it’s not worth the risk. We would leave the ponchos, sunscreen, extra pull ups, etc. in the bottom of the stroller. Anything that could be easily replaced could stay.

Can you have a double brought to your hotel?
