Backpacks on the rides?

I was wondering if anyone knows for sure if you are allowed to wear (or hold) your backpacks on the rides. Especially the major ones (EE, RR, SM, etc. ). I know I used my fanny pack last year and never had to take it off, but do they allow you to keep your backpack with you on the rides if you want to?

Sure! We have a Jansport backpack we use. When we go on roller coasters or such DBF puts it on the floor, wraps a shoulder strap around his leg (just in case!), and holds it between his feet. We've never had a problem!

Majority of the rides you have to take your whatever bag or package you have with you on the ride because where you get on the ride and get off are not the same.

I have a gigantic backpack made for skiing and I've always used it in the parks and never had a problem. One time I forgot to put pressure on it on TOT and it floated for a little bit, but other than that, no problems

Just to echo everyone else. Ive ridden every ride in the parks with my Mountain Hardware backpack and never had any problem. Just put it between your feet with a leg through one of the straps and forget about it.

I went on Expedition Everest a few weeks ago in the single rider line, and was assigned a seat next to a guy that video taped the entire ride. I nervously watched his camera jolt around out of the corner of my eye. I can see the headlines now... "Girl killed by videographer on roller coaster." If he could get away with that, I think you can get away with anything!

Not to mention also that a lot of the pouches they have on rides are actually a lot bigger and can hold a lot more stuff than they look like. Just give them a good tug and a middle sized backpack can fit in most of them.

Yes, for the most part. The more thrilling rides all have pouches within your reach (Expedition Everest, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, etc.).

You will have to take it off if it's a seat where you lean back, otherwise you'll be very uncomfortable. I have worn my small backpack on the front of me with no problems. This trip I have a Baggallini messenger bag and I think I'll be wearing it in front too. It's just more comfy for me that way, and easier to get into.

We were there last week and we took our backpack on all the rides and kept it at our feet. No problem!

Don't make the same mistake I did -

DS and DH decided to ride it. I had a poncho and hat in the backpack, but watching the ride, I could see no place for a backpack and the floor board was getting drenched. So, I decided not to ride because I didn't want the backpack drenched or unattended. Turns out the middle part is a container with a cover that the riders put things in.

I SHOULD HAVE RIDDEN!!

The backpack was no problem on any ride.

Ditto to the majority. On my last trip I took a medium-sized purse that went across my body and had no problems on any rides whatsoever. My friend had a big tote bag and also had no problems. I would recommend keeping as slim as possible. Those bags get awful heavy by the end of the day!

The backpack was no problem on any ride.

I've put my backpack in the center section and it does fit fine -- unless people have a ton of stuff, and then some water does still get in there.

Last year I put my cellphone, camera, etc, in zip lock bags while we were waiting in line (I had packed them in a pocket of my backpack) and then put the bags in my backpack... the backpack DID get a little wet, but the ziplocks kept the stuff dry.
