My wife and kids are going to MK next week and I have a question concerning taking backpacks into the parks.

Is there a limit to what you may bring or how many items you may bring into the parks?

I've heard that you may bring bottled water but can you bring snacks also?

Thanks,
Bobby

You're not really allowed to bring snacks, but they don't really enforce that rule unless they catch you with a full-featured lunch.
There isn'[t a limit on how many items you can bring, but I recommend packing lightly - you don't want to carry a full backpack day in the middle of summer.

While they will go through your bags at every kingdom, they are pretty good about snacks. We packed 2 fruit roll ups a day and life savers. We offered them to the security, who thanked us but declined! We also carried 2 cans of soda, each, in our back packs and nobody said a word. DH carried his power-ade type drink on his drink holder strap and nobody questioned him. He'd fill it up at the resort in the morning w/the gallon of Gatorade that we bought ourside the park on our first day.

You can carry as many pkgs. into the kingdoms ... but they will look into each and every one of them for inspection.

As long as you don't bring weapons (although, they do allow strollers, which I have seen some people use as weapons) or anything that has the potential of harming others, you are fine.

Yes - they do check but are okay with most snacks. When we went to Tarzan Rocks! all the families around us (including us!) dragged out all our snacks to eat while we waited for the show - and discussed how embarassed we were when they went through our bags! This was pretty soon after Sept. 11 when bag-checking was new!

You better watch out because some of those security guards - especially the ones at the MK - are LOOKING for snacks - for themselves! :) At least that's what they were joking about when we were there recently. :)

I thought I could get away with a fanny pack but ended up carrying a backpack. We took bottled water and candy. I had to carry it because of the ponchos.

Have fun!!

Jill

P.S. You'll get used to this soon enough, but you can speed up the bag-check lines if you have all the pockets of your back pack unzipped before you ge to the guard.

we almost always pack some kind of snacks for the little ones, and healthy ones for us, and no one ever says anything...

We have always brought a backpack in. I have a water bottle that I refill at the water fountains. We always bring snacks in-slim jims, beef jerky, dried fruit chews, granola bars, etc. But like the earlier reply-make sure you realize how heavy things get when you have to carry it around all day. Just bring in what you need and refill when you go back to your room for a break.
