I was looking on the Knott's Berry Farm website and noticed that backpacks are listed in the "Unauthorized Items" section in FAQ. Can anyone out there confirm this? Also, are backpacks allowed in Disneyland and DCA? I know you have to go through a security check so I'm assuming backpacks are allowed in the 2 Disney parks.

Yes, backpacks are allowed in Disneyland. No glass but you can bring water, soda and snacks too.

You will have to leave your backpack in a locker at the front of the park or carry it on all the rides. The CMs will not be responsible for your bags while you are on a ride.

There was a similar thread at this board or another one that backpacks and fannypacks were going to be banned . I can see it to a point, security and workforce stand point. Going to have to buy myself some cargo pants i guess. :confused3

I hope they don't ban backpacks! We went there with our 6 month old -- and I can't imagine them not allowing diaper bags/backpacks to pack bottles, diapers, wipes, etc for babies.
Yes, the cargo pants are a good idea! My hubby got a pair of Mossimo cargo shorts from Target and they are his favorite. While we were at DL, he could fit the digital camera, snacks, his wallet, etc in the cargo pockets!

My DW got me a couple of pairs of cargo shorts. Very handy, pockets for film, sunscreen, smokes, snacks and such. :cool1:

there is just no practical way for them to ban bags.......too many people will just forego the bother of coming to a park if they can't bring the things they need (diapers/bottles for babies, change of clothes for babies and toddlers, hats, sweatshirts for A/C, rain ponchos, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc )...

I don't think the ban included diaper bags ,just backpacks and fannypacks,i think. When in doubt take a REALLY BIG DIAPER BAG. :confused3

how are you going to decide what is necessary and what isn't....
and what about women's handbags.......will they be banned as well?...
they're usually a lot bigger than fanny packs (which typically are pretty small)..

how can they tell me that i can't carry a backpack....i need to carry sweatshirts for all 4 of us since we freeze to death in the arctic chill A/C that's typical of the US....plus i need to carry medication....plus i need to carry food in the backpack due to food allergies....

so they'll let me through...but why me and not someone else..

it just means human resources....now that new people have taken over disney they are going to be more user friendly not less user friendly...
they'll hire whatever human resources they need to make it easier for people, not harder....

In case anyone else is wondering about the backpack issue for Knott's, I ended up calling them today and they told me that backpacks ARE allowed in the park but subject to search, so I guess it's NOT an UNAUTHORIZED item anymore.
