Backpack size, name, model, highlights, etc.?

I have not seen this discussed in awhile. Best backpack for one day in the park? Be specific, brand, model, size, advantages. We typically have water, snacks, towel (small), napkins, and maybe even extra shoes (sandals). We hike and have a North Face 35 which I think is too big. Others that YOU bring?

Venture Pal backpack is very popular at the parks. My only complaint on the one that I currently own is that the water-resistant coating inside the backpack is starting to peel off. But for the price, it is a great backpack.

My husband liked the Waterfly sling backpack on our most recent trip. The capacity is less, but it does the job for most people.

I have 2 that I regularly use. 1 is a Billabong daypack that is 100% waterproof, It has one main compartment with a few pockets in it, and then 2 outside pockets and a drink pocket. All are watertight and great for summer months when it rains daily.
The other one I use is more of a camera backpack. Its a bit bigger and heavier, but It holds everything. I believe its a Lowepro but not certain of the model.

I don’t think there’s much backpack innovation that would make a thread from last year outdated. I wouldn’t discount any of the suggestions in those threads.

If it holds what I need for a day at the parks it's good to me. Last time I brought a mini backpack and it held a water bottle, tissues, squeezy fruit diluting squash, sunglasses, small bottle of sun cream fine.

I tend to use the daypack that came with my Osprey Farpoint 55. The daypack has super comfy straps, is 15L (which is enough for the things we need plus a sweatshirt in case it gets cool at night), has 2 waterbottle pockets, and has a front/top pocket the right size to hold some sunglasses or to toss my phone in while on roller coasters. It's also nice and narrow so I don't whack people with it in the Emporium! If you aren't the type of person who also needs an "around the world in a backpack" type large bag and thus would need to get the day bag separately, the closest one is probably the Arcane Small Day Bag - it actually has more internal organization than my current one does, which is nice.

We really like the Patagonia Refugio backpacks. DH has a men's one and I have a women's (slightly smaller). Men's is 28L, women's is 26. It's very comfortable, has lots of pockets, and the water bottle holders on the sides are tall, so they snugly hold larger water bottles than most backpacks. It's maybe too big for what you're looking for, but it is really comfortable.
