Will a standard size, super full :), backpack fit at your feet on most attractions? I typically take a larger purse but with the addition of ponchos this trip a backpack was needed.

TIA

I've taken a standard size backpack on virtually everything at WDW. It fits, no problem. Loop your leg through a strap if you're worried about it being secure.

Exception: I did leave it in a free locker at Kali River Rapids to stop it getting wet.

At Disney have taken on all rides - at other theme parks they insist on you leaving at the side or putting in a locker.

Disney is very backpack friendly, you can take a medium to large sized backpack with you right on all the rides easily.

Universal, forget it. I was shocked and irritated the first time we went and we had this huge hassle at the Harry Potter ride having to use a locker. Had I known this was going to be such a PITA, I wouldn't have bothered bringing it at all.

Even on 7D mine train?

I haven't been on it yet, but a group of my friends went to WDW a couple weeks ago, and one carried his big heavy camera backpack on 7DMT. He's a tall guy, too, so if it fit with him, we should all be fine. :thumbsup2

Oh, I agree!!!!! After the trek from "preferred" parking, I was already feeling irritated. Then having to use lockers for all the rides?! Ugh!

I didn't even know before to appreciate this about Disney. Now I do!

Thank you all! I think I may have asked this same question before our last visit and scrapped the backpack idea just before we left. This time since it is a must I was curious. Glad it won't be an issue :thumbsup2
