Backpack for trip.

Looking for a backpack that has padded straps and very few pockets. I need one that me, my son or my husband can carry( that they don't mind carrying),Any ideas? Few pockets to search at the gates.

LLBean has some great ones I've used a couple times. The models we have are no longer made but the one called the stowaway day pack is close. Great to use on hiking as well.

I needed a small, light bag to replace my purse in WDW two summers ago. I found a backpack that has one strap that goes crossbody at Eddie Bauer. Don't see it on their website now but maybe in the stores. It was small enough that my DD8 also carried one. The strap was reversible to wear over either shoulder.

It didn't have too many pockets but my husband swears by this trick: He says if you are a woman, go through the bag search line staffed by a man. Men tend not to look too deeply into women's bags. Especially if you have any feminine items visible when opened. I was doubtful but I've seen it many times at Disney and elsewhere where a guy just glances into my bag while rooting through his more thoroughly.

I second the Eddie Bauer bag. We got one for our last trip. It was light weight and a nice neutral color. It can also expand if you buy lots of stuff.

I remember it being fairly inexpensive. Maybe $15 or $20 dollars.

I just use a basic Jansport. They come in lots of colors and different sizes. I have basic black so DH will take a turn carrying it too.

I would suggest hitting the local big store Ie: Wal Mart, Target, Kohls, etc. Lots of back packs out there.

I have an Eddie Bauer that I love. The feature I love best is it has a couple of bottle holders which makes taking/drinking water on hot days much easier.

REI has a great day pack that has padded straps, padded back and only 3 pockets. I would go there and check out their bags as well as their clearance. We were REI yesterday and they have great sales right now.

I really like the following backpacks:

Patagonia Refugio Pack 28L Backpack. Well organized and durable.

North Face BASE CAMP HOT SHOT. Very water resistant. Make sure it is the base camp and not the non-base camp version. We have it in black and it looks great. However currently it looks like bright colors. Perhaps someone has a black one online....
