Backdoor Disney wedding/reception?

Does anyone have any experience with arranging for a private wedding at a DVC resort room, and not using any of the Disney staff to coordinate it? Does Disney have any rules prohibiting this?

If you get caught, you'll get banned. That's not to say it doesn't happen because it does. It's hard to control what people do in their own hotel rooms, but there is risk involved and seems like it would really ruin the honeymoon if you're caught, and can't spend your honeymoon in Disney.

It really doesn't seem any better than a registry/courthouse wedding? If it's a budget thing then I'd do a registry/courthouse wedding and meet up at a Disney Springs or other restaurant for a normal large group booking meal (which only costs the meal) and you can always have a gathering in the room.

I know of a couple that got married on the balcony of the Treehouse Villa's at Saratoga Springs. If it is inside your hotel room, there is an unlikely chance that Security would see you, because if they do, they will interrupt it.
