We have planned a trip to WDW next year, does anyone have any suggestions as to which would be the best to go to, Back Yard BBQ or Hoop-De-Doo, we have the DDP and i understand they are both a 2 table service. We have to boys age 10 and 11, so which ever fits around them we would prefer to go to.:confused3

HDDR more than MBYB. The barbecue is cute but got very crowded when we went. HDDR is corny but it must have something since it's over 30 years old. I have an 11 year old son and his preference is much stronger than mine for HDDR.

I say HDDR, especially for boys that old. Plus since it is inside, weather isn't a factor, you'll have ac in the summer !

I also wondered about this and after reading this thread and other research, I am sticking with HDDR.

We've never done the BBQ but have done Hoop Dee Doo several times. I'd go with HDD since it's indoors. Sure, it's hokey but it's fun and the food is pretty good too.

Another vote for HDDR!! We went for the 1st time last summer & it is on our list to go back to next year. The food was really good & the show was great family fun! Our girls all loved it & they were 6, 11 & 16 at the time. My BFF went to MBYBBQ the same week we did HDDR & she said they were really disappointed. She felt the food did not warrant the 2TS charged.

Another vote for the Hoop! My DS-11 has been there 3 times and each time he laughs so hard that the veins pop out of his neck. We're laughing along with him.

My husband and I also found it is fun to arrive a bit early and order a margarita at Trail's End to enjoy on a rocking chair on the front porch.

I've done both and Hoop Dee Doo wins by a ginormous margin. I would not do the BBQ again, however I've gone to the Hoop 5 or more times.

I thought HDDR was a bit cheezy when my family took me to see it...(I was 15 so a little older than your boys), it was okay but I don't think i'll be doing it again...of course if your a fan of the "country" theme than I'm sure you'll have a better time than I did. =D
