Back to the Future - still open?

BTTF was open yesterday when we were there. We didn't have a chance to ride it because the line was a bit long, but we're hoping to ride it tomorrow.
Yeah, it was 45 minute wait when we went by and still climbing.

They are just referring to the movie. If I were you, I'd ride on the 31st as there is no guarantee that it will be open in November.

bit bizzaro to pay homage to a movie/attraction by shutting it down on a date mentioned prominently in the movie...

BTF go home...elliot.:confused3

My family will miss it, just hope the the next best thing (is Simpson still on deck?) gets installed before end of next June. If not, I'm really in the doghouse. We skipped Universal last trip. My quote was...don't worry, it'll be there next trip:guilty: .

November 5th 10:04 p.m. BTTF closes for good.
I will have the ride 9/3, 9/4, or 9/5 the days I will be there when that ride is open. It will be my first time in Universal and I don't want to miss anything. I hope its open and not to packed when I am there. :)

Ok. It seems many are still confused over Yaytez statement: "November 5th 10:04 p.m. BTTF closes for good."

He is kidding. It was a movie reference not the official closing. Please don't plan your trip around that closing date as it is was a joke he was making. Universal isn't even open until 10:04 PM on November 5th. Universal closes at 6:00 PM. BTTF is expected to close at the end of October but nothing is official yet. We have no official closing date from Universal.

yunz' guys sure have a wild & wacky sense of humor:)

so, based on an educated guess...

1) when is it going to close

2) what will the replacement be (simpsons?) &

3) when do you figure it WILL re-open/how long to revamp a ride?

look into your crystal ball & give it a whirl.:thumbsup2

As in Simpsons do you mean Homer, Bart, Marge, etc. (The Simpson Family -TV Show-)? Or is it something else your talking about? It would be pretty cool if they made a Simpsons ride there. I would go to Universal a 2nd time to ride it lol!

Yep, certainly not the blonde bimbo singers lol.

DS is infatuated w/the Simpsons, sez all the sites are calling it a done deal???

It actually ends with Doc Brown falling off the toilet and drawing a picture of the Flux Capacitor.
I think someone already said make a mock up of the end scene, send it off in style.....have lightning hit the top of the building as the delorean goes screaming by....GREAT SCOTT!
I just hope my sources are wrong, dead wrong, but its turning around and the simpsons arent looking as good as The Fast and The Furious.

The Fast and the Furious has been thrown around forever and it's been discarded many times. The Simpsons have more staying power and recognizability and profitability than F&F.

DS tells me the current buzz is a tie-in with release of long awaited Simpson's movie, release date set for last week in July.

Of course, this movie has been delayed several times already.;)

I'm not a "techie" by any means but assume they could use same vehicles (add a simpson shell), even same motions (have new film correspond)? Anyone know what time frame we'd be talking?

Would think something would be in place for summer season, a new attraction is a good pull for the parks.

I agree that the Simpsons would have more staying power and is more widely recognized. I would stand in line (with onsite fast pass of course) to get a ride on Bart's rocket car or a drunken ride from Moe's to the Simpson home by Homer!!
:rotfl2:

I really dont forsee Universal making a Fast & Furious ride unless they're only expecting to keep it for a short term. It just doesn't have the widespread appeal, and the cars, etc. will look pretty dated 10 years from now.
