I am not sure whether to go on Back to the Future - LOVE the films, but get a bit motion sick. What do you guys think?

It doesn't make me sick, but I don't have a motion sickness problem either... I wouldn't ride it with a full tummy as it's definitely a bumpy ride. The only thing that bothers me is sitting in the back seat because my head tends to get banged against the wall (you'd think I'd be used to that :headache: ) but it does bother me. Anyway, I love the ride, maybe you could take some bonine or something before you get to the park and then you could probably enjoy it with no worries. :)

There are motion sickness pill that are often recommended by DISers. Dramamine is one of them. That could help you not get as motion sick, as BTTF is the attraction most likely to make someone feel ill in USF.

I have had problems on other rides, but this one has never bothered me, good luck!

Simulators like BTTF, Star Wars, and the Polar Bear exhibit at SWF trick your brain into thinking it is going a direction it is not. This makes me sick and out of it for an hour after riding one. Yet I'm the biggest coaster fan on the planet. I can also ride Gravatrons, and had no problem with MS at Epcot. But I won't ride simulators ever again.

This ride is bad because it shakes violently. If you are in the back row, watch out for your head. People have been complaining, yet the park has done nothing to change the ride program. All they need to do is tame it down, and make the car do gentle curves that match the movie. Instead, it shakes back and forth, like they're trying to prove something. You win, you win, I'll never ride again.

I agree 100% with robvia, hated the ride, but I hate all simulator rides. I was CRAMMED in the back seat with 3 other adults while my daughter (age 10) rode in the front. She LOVED it! All I felt was being thrown around & knocked into the other people (that I didnt know). Now my daughter rides it without me! (btw, I'm also the biggest coaster fan, love Hulk & DD, RnRC, Kracken, etc)

I do not care for rollercoasters, (yet love the new Mummy ride), but I do like simulators because I know there is no danger of falling. I love the ride BTTF. To me, the bumpiness makes it more fun!

This ride didn't make me sick.......... I was too busy holding on for dear life.......... it jerks you around a lot......... I had bruises the next day!!!! I didn't care for it for that reason.........

I hope when you shouted you said, "one point two one gigawatts" and not "one point twenty one gigawatts". As a math teacher, that quote from the movie drives me insane!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only simulator I can't handle is Body Wars. However, I have not tried Mission Space. I had no problem with Back to the Future, not even when I rode in the back. It is a bit bumpy but considering what the car is supposedly crashing into, I think that's inevitable.

I can ride any simulator and not feel queasy except BTTF. It makes me very nauseous and it is a very rough ride. It is disappointing since I love the BTTF movies. I won't be riding the ride again.

I am the biggest roller coaster fan! I can ride them numerous times and never get nauseated like I do on simulator rides. I do not remember which ride I was on, but I remember that I could not look at the screen in from of me. Instead, I was concentrating on looking around me and the people in the cars beside me (I think it was BTTF). I can never ride any simulator rides again. In fact, I still felt it about an hour after the ride. Never again!

BTTF jerks you around more than most simulators. Body Wars is the worst ever at Disney and made my whole family feel ill, but BTTF runs pretty close behind. In addition to jerking you around, it slams your head into the side of the car if you are in the back on the outside. I will have to take my kids on it when we go, but I am not looking foreward to it.

I have never been sick on this ride and loved it!! DH and I go on this, usually, 4-5 times!! :)

I felt a little ill on this one last time I rode it...suddenly, simulator rides seem to be doing that to me.

Won't stop me from riding it though..I'll just take some motion sickness medication before riding it pirate:

I am majorly prone to motion sickness and never get sick on BTTF. Now neck pains is a different thing..........nothing tylenol can't cure though.

I have to say its disturbing how the queasy and shaken part of the poll is outstripping the other two combined (as I write - 12 queasy, 4 queasy but enjoyed it and 7 shouting 1.21 gigawatts)! I think I may have to miss this one.

I am the queen of motion sickness (never grew out of it!), and this one didn't bother me at all. I wear the TransDerm Scop patch though. Works like a charm!

Whats this patch? I've tried Dramamine and Bonine and both knocked me out, even though Bonine is supposed to be less drowsy.

I did not feel queasy at all, but I could not concentrate on the ride because I was too busy trying to stop my head BANGING against the side of the car. I had the worst headache when I got off. Do NOT sit in the back seat. It was miserable (and I love all the other rides at US and IOA)
