DD and DS start school on Tuesday. Anyone have clever, fun snacks to pack?

not clever or fun, but dd and ds absolutely LOVE to take popcorn. popcorn::

I am surprised at the number of kids who can take snacks to school. It must be something regional because my kids were never allowed to.

My super-picky anti-veggie kid has been asking for celery ever since I started buying the little Jif cups of peanut butter for dipping. I know this may not be an option if your school has a no-peanut policy, but she goes to a small, private school with no allergies in her grade. It's a great way to get a extra veggie and some protein into her!

My younger daughter loves mini kabobs with turkey and cheese cubes or fruit (although the teacher may not appreciate you arming the kids with mini-swords :rotfl:)

Make your own "trail mix" of what they love. Or you can have a few choices and they can help make up baggies daily or weekly.

goldfish
pretzels
nuts (if allowed)
popcorn
m&m's
choc chips
chex
cheerios
raisins (even yogurt covered raisins)
dried fruits (like cranberries, cherries, blueberries, or tropical blend)
rice crackers
sesame stix
etc....

Or a small amount of granola to top yogurt cup
ranch cups with veggie stix
PB (if allowed) with graham crackers, carrots, or apple slices
grapes or other fruit

Lots of choices, but fun would all depend on your children's likes and dislikes.
