I can't believe I am saying this already:scared1: but...

It is just about time for the big back-to-school bargain sale to begin and I haven't seen a thread to help each other catch the deals yet, so...

I personally haven't seen any official flyers or anything, but I know Target's big sales have begun the Sunday following the 4th of July in past years so that's this week already!

Anybody else want in on the bargain watch? popcorn::

Count me in!!

My DD got her "list" a week after school was done~:scared1:

I'll post if I see anything!

Let the savings begin............................

Can't wait for Staple's 1 cent sales! I often go to both Staples each day and load up for our Inner-City Backpack Drive......we fill them with school supplies.

TRU's Back to School ad arrived at our house yesterday. Seemed to be the usual stuff -free lunch tote with backpack, discounts on thermoses etc. I am in need of another stainless steel thermos but that was about all that caught my eye.

Ds is heading off to K this September! :scared1:

His teacher's list was not long at all, but I do plan to get doubles to help her out in case any students show up with nothing. (My teacher friend suggested I do this.) :goodvibes

And I will hit the $.01 sale at Staples as well!

As a teacher and parent, I am on board with this thread! I will need to buy my students folders in different colors for each subject. Wish me luck as I try to find 28 of red, green, blue, orange, etc.!!!

scribing :)
cant wait to shop for back to school! means they are one step closer to being out of my hair LOL

We haven't even enjoyed summer yet! School just ended last week and my nephews in NYC public schools ended yesterday!!

if anyone is interested, jcpenney is having their buy 1, get 1 for 0.88 sale through thursday. i got DD a HUGE sack of blouses, t-shirts and a pair of cargo shorts yesterday for a little over $100.00.

Hubby and I are heading to the States (NY and Maine area) on Friday and will be there for about a week. I am hoping to pick up some deals.

School just ended here today, but I am a planner and like to be ahead of the game.

I have no access to US flyer so any help you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I am in need of crayons so been watching and waiting patiently! The kids go back to school here the 2nd of August, so not much time left!

If you have a Staples nearby, don't forget that as a teacher you may get over the specified "limit" of each sale item! I think I could get 25 or 50 instead of 5-10 last year. This is fabulous for stocking up the classroom shelves! (Last year I got enough looseleaf paper for myself and another classroom during the 1 cent sale and barely spent anything!) YMMV. Each store is different so ask the manager before you shop to find out what the educator limits are and don't forget that the limits are per visit and they don't discourage you from returning again for the same deal...:thumbsup2

Let the hunt begin!

Our school sells a supply kit where they pretty much get everything ready for you. I'm sure it ends up being more $ than if I went out shopping myself, but I don't mind paying for the convenience. :) Plus, a lot of the items are very specific brands which I'm sure I'd have to go to several stores to find.

One thing my DD wants this year is a thermos so she can take hot food for lunch. I see that someone mentioned a sale on thermos at Toys R Us.

Any recommendations?

I've already begun stalking the aisles of the stores waiting for the conversion from summer to BTS. I LOVE shopping the BTS sales for supplies, my kids favorite things are notebooks so we stock up big time when Target sells the packs of $10 for $1. :thumbsup2

My DD starts school next week, so I need to get a few things. I also use back to school sales to stock up on things for the year around the house. I buy lots of crayons, glue sticks etc....

My girls are already talking about it.

I trained them right...:lmao:

I'm not sure if the original poster intended this thread just for back to school supplies, but I thought I'd pass along a clothes shopping tip:

Gap Outlet is having a 4th of July sale starting Thursday, July 1. All shorts for the entire family are $10. In addition, they have a "mystery savings" where you get an additional at least 10% off at the register.

Target Dollar spot has a few school items. Lots of pencils and flash cards. Some BINGO games too.

We bought DD a thermos at Target for hot food. It was in the camping area, wide mouth so it was easy for her to use. I filled it with hot water, heated up her food, poured out the water and added the hot food. Food stayed warm through lunch.
Check the back to school area and the camping area when you are looking.
