Back to Reality !!!

Hi guys

Returned home last week from an awesome trip to Florida - have now recovered from the initial shock of this 'work' thingy - and so am returning to the boards to start planning the next trip !!!

I will attempt a full trip report soon - but for now here are the hi's (and lo's !!!) of the trip !


The Good

Twilight check-in at Gatwick - cases ditched and boarding cards received within 10 minutes of arriving at the airport - fantastic !

Virgin Atlantic - top notch all round service as always.

The weather - loads of sunshine - pushing the 90's every day - only a few spots of rain the whole trip.

Low park attendances - wait times for the rides hit 20 minutes tops - most were straight walk on's !

Revenge of the Mummy - got to ride this several times in a row a couple of days before the offical opening - awesome !

Cirque du Soleil - if you have not seen this show - go see it - you will be amazed !

Tchoup Chop - if you have not eaten here - do it - we dined here for our anniversary - the food, service and dining experience is excellent !

Downtown Disney check-in - cases ditched and boarding cards received within 5 minutes of arriving at DD - fantastic x 2 !


The Bad (only minor)

Revenge of the Mummy !!!!! - the ride is just far too short !

Ride Malfunctions ! - maybe it was just me - but this is the first visit that I have experienced several rides which have not operated as they should - I hope that it was just coincidence and not the fact that the parks are cutting back on maintenance to save a few $$$


and.....The Ugly !!!

In Florida - you must be joking !

Glad to hear you had a good time - question re twlight checking, we are using this next Thurs - what time did you check in? and also what time did you use the downtown disney checkin (we also plan to use this..)

Twilight check-in is open from 2:30pm to 9:00pm daily - we checked in about 7:30pm and the place was almost deserted !

Downtown Disney check-in is open from 8:00am to 1:00pm daily - we checked in about noon and were the only ones there !

note - there is a $5.00 per person charge to use the DD check-in facility.

How does DD check in work, were flying with Virgin in October and staying on I.D our flight home is at 17.35.Do you leave your cases there,then they take them to the airport or do you have to go back and fetch them
Sorry all this might sound a bit dumb

It's our 1st trip to the U.S

The DD check-in operates in exactly the same way as any regular airport check-in - but without the long lines !

You will check-in your luggage and receive your boarding cards - all you have to do then is enjoy the last day of your holiday and turn up at the airport gate about 1 hour prior to the departure of the flight.

Oh Wow thats great now i can plan another day!!!

I was thinking that our last day would be a "No No" day,leaving the hotel then just hanging around waiting for our flight

Now then, we shall have one day left on our pass 'what shall we do'................
