Well...after this Thursday, I will be back to working only one job. I turned in my notice to the Home Depot. I actually shed a few tears, because I really enjoy working there. It will, however, be nice to be working only one job again & have my evenings free. Why,,,,I might even have a clean house again!! I have advised all my co-workers that I will come in from time to time simply to harrass them. My, that will be such fun!

Well congrats and condolences Deb!!! I know you will miss it, but it will be nice to have some free time too!!! :D

I am in the home depot so much the last couple weeks that I swear I should work there LOL.

I'm so glad you get to take it a bit easier, you deserve it.:laundy:
You know Rick is gonna expect a dinner buffet every night now. ;)

Congratulations Deb! Enjoy your evenings!

Yea: I hear the Trails End isn't busy now-days

There goes my Home Depot discount.

Deb, I'll bet you will miss HD more than Mission Space.

See You Rick and AL soon

PS: I've got your Silverware packed.

congrats deb, you deserve a break...........although my husband contributes a lot to home depots retirement fund.......

Well....I've always heard that idle hands are the devils playthings.

You're gonna get in trouble, I just know it.:lmao:

That's great. I am happy that you can take it a little easier. I don't know how you did 2 jobs, I came home from my 1 job so tied. By the way you know how upset I was and thought I would loose my job, everything seems to have turned out ok and last week I got a bonus, from one of his other companies that I do work for, but what a turn around from May. I can't tell you how excited I was, it will pay for 1/2 our trip in Oct.

Wow, Denny!!! You are psychic!! You figured me out in just one afternoon! :lmao:

Lorna - I know you have to be thrilled!! Apparantly, your manager has a higher opinion of you than you thought he did. Now...just have more confidence in yourself and you may end up with a nice Christmas bonus! :thumbsup2

BTW - I told my front end manager at Home Depot that I was going to crash the employee Christmas party, and he "advised" me that it was the same place, same time as last year! Ha!

Can I have your job ?

Frank - You're a natural for the Home Depot!! You'd fit right in and you would absolutely love it. Go online and put in an application for part time. Our store was fabulous about working with the PT people with scheduling. With your knowledge - you could probably work the Pro Desk, lumber or building materials.

The minimum amount of availability you have to have is 4-5 hours 2 nights a week and 4-8 hours one day on the weekend. After things settled with Rick's job, I cut back my availability from 20-25 per week to 12 per week with no hours scheduled on Friday or Saturday. There was no problem doing that & they were very accomodating.

If I ever have to get a second job again, I'd go back to THD in a NY minute! If I ever leave my church job - I'd go back to THD just for the fun of it!

Congrats Debbie! :cool1::cool1::cool1: I am soooooooooo jealous. What I wouldn't give to only have to work one job. Maybe when all the planets align on just the right day DH will get a job that has decent pay and all will be right with the world again. I hope I am in your shoes someday.

This is the first year in many I have only had one job. In fact, for many years, I had three - I would not recommend that to anyone. It's okay, but I find myself getting bored sometimes, and I miss the fun money.

Congrats Deb. I know when I left the Disney Store it was really hard. Like leaving a family behind.

Now my job is traveling. Retried and loving every minute of it.:cheer2:

Congratulations Deb :flower3:...about time you slowed down a bit.

Well....tonite's it for me.

Last night my Front End Manager gave me an exit review (not interview) and the fact he did that shocked me. There have been others to leave and I've never heard of an exit review. When I asked him "why me" he said that in the 11 years he's been with THD, he's only done this 4 other times, and they were full time employees. So, what's up with me, I asked? He told me that if it were up to him, he would pay me whatever it took to get me to stay & he'd be glad work around whatever I needed for scheduling. Well, at that point, this tough old broad started to break down and cry. I really enjoyed working there, but had no idea how they liked having me around. Verizon sure never treated their employees that way. I was told that if I ever wanted to come back that the door was opened to me at any time. Wow! What a great feeling.

I will miss my co-workers and how much fun I would have razzing customers. Even some of the regular customers were giving my hugs last night & wishing me well. Tonite's gonna be a toughie!
