Back to back Cruisin' with Peg Leg Mel & Eric the Rum Runner Oct 23-30,11 COMPLETED!!

When we got up from our nap, we decided to ride the monorail to Epcot & back before dinner.
We saw some deer grazing as we transferred to the EPCOT monorail at the TTC.

"Inside" EPCOT without a ticket :teeth:

Hi Mickey!
IMG_2416.jpg

We took the path from the TTC to the Polynesian.

IMG_2421.jpg

We had dinner at the Kona Cafe.

Lilo & Stitch
IMG_2426.jpg

IMG_2427.jpg

The bread & butter there is soooooo good.
IMG_2429.jpg

We shared a Kona Salad - Mixed greens, Maytag blue cheese, fresh fruit, red onions, and smoked almonds with a citrus vinaigrette & an order of Pot Stickers - wok-seared pork and vegetable dumplings with creamy ginger-soy sauce. Both yummy!
IMG_2430.jpg

For our main course, we shared sushi! 2 types of rolls.....California Luau Roll - fresh jumbo lump crab, pineapple, and avocado & Shrimp Tempura Roll - tempura shrimp, fresh mango served with lilikoi sauce. So good!
IMG_2431.jpg

We skipped dessert since we had ginormous sundaes at Ghiradelli earlier & headed back to BLT.
Pool area at dark.
IMG_2433.jpg

There were these terrible little bugs everywhere outside so we didn't stay out long & then when we went back in they were everywhere on the ground floor-clining to the walls & ceiling & dead all over the floor. It was really gross.:scared1:
Cool chairs in the lobby.
IMG_2446.jpg

As a DVC member staying at BLT on points, you can enjoy an evening in the Top of the World Lounge at the top of the resort. You have to be escorted to a special elevator & so we went up there to enjoy a cocktail & watch the Hallowishes fireworks. We rode up in the elevator with Santa Claus. I guess he was there on vacation to rest up before Christmas. No joke!
IMG_2458.jpg

IMG_2448.jpg

Cool Herb Ryman Tomorrowland concept art up there.
IMG_2459.jpg

I had some kind of superberry cosmo & Eric had a glass of wine.
IMG_2460.jpg

It was really nice & relaxing up there with beautiful views of the Magic Kingdom.
IMG_2465.jpg

Before long it was time for Hallowishes to start so we went outside to watch.
IMG_2477.jpg

IMG_2490.jpg

IMG_2491.jpg

A little video of the show...the music was piped in up there.

After the show, I asked Santa if I could take his picture & he happily obliged. It was cute all kinds of kids were coming up to talk to him.
IMG_2494.jpg

We enjoyed another cocktail & then headed back down to our room. Trying to get a coke we stopped on nearly every floor looking for a machine & ended up seeing some cool art.
IMG_2497.jpg

IMG_2503.jpg

And another view of the pool from inside.
IMG_2500.jpg

Cool lights....
IMG_2504.jpg

Back to our room.
IMG_2505.jpg

We relaxed a bit...missing the classic cartooon channel from the ship which we were wanting to watch. Soon we went to bed because we had an early pick up by Magical Express to take us to the airport.

The next morning when we got up, I looked outside & caught them checking the Cinderella Castle Christmas lights. Pretty darn cool.

IMG_2508.jpg

Eric took the luggage on over & then came back to get me & then we were on our way to MCO.
We had breakfast at Starbucks before heading to our gate.
IMG_2509.jpg

Before we knew it, we were back in good old Tennessee. We had a wonderful trip filled with lots of great memories & had even made some prety great friends. What more can you ask for from a trip?

I hope all of you are enjoying your Holiday season & I wish you all the Merriest of Christmases & a New Year full of lots of magic, fun & great trips.
Here's my Disney Christmas Village.

Hi Melanie, Nice finish. I've heard about those bugs at BLT:eek: I haven't stayed at BLT yet, hopefully for a birthday trip which I was planning for 2012, but I have too much planned in 2012, so I think it will be 2013. I'll be looking for your TR from AKV!

Loved reading your report Melanie! Merry Christmas to you and your husband too!:santa:

Loved your Starbucks...every Saturday Morning a Venti Hot Chocolate and oatmeal!!

Thanks Beth! Those bugs were gross....in fact Eric said he wasn't sure if he would want to stay there much if that was a regular thing.

We also saw Santa Claus getting off the boat at WL. It was so cute, these little girls ran up to him and hugged him and said HI Santa!

Finished reading your TR. Nice job!!!:thumbsup2: We we're on the Dream a week before your sailing...I hope we left the ship in good enough shape for you.

I was looking for info on B2B cruising and your report turned out to be very insightful.

Did you find that you received any extra special attention being a B2B'er?

Also, I love the pirates glasses you both had, where did you acquire those again?

Hi Peg Leg:rotfl2:
Hope your leg is better.

Quick question...was one of the other waiters giving your waiter Chris a hard time named Brenton?

Here is a picture of him. I think I spotted him in one of your pictures. He was great on our Wonder cruise back in 2007 and if he is now on the Dream I will request him for next year.

Yes that is definetly him! He was hilarious & gave Chris such a hard time!

That was the first time I had seen that one too. It was at the Art of Disney. They really do come up with some great merchandise.

Hey Chris! We are great. The fireworks pictures were taken from the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Towers. It is worth a stay there just to get to go up there for the fireworks I think.

We also saw Santa Claus getting off the boat at WL. It was so cute, these little girls ran up to him and hugged him and said HI Santa!
I know there were lots of kids coming up to him that night. It is obvious that he loves it as much as they love seeing Santa.

Thanks! The ship was ship shape for us.
Glad my trip report was helpful. I couldn't find a lot of specifics out there about back to back experiences when I went looking. We got special attention from the people that recognized us from the 4 night. Our waiter was so great that we asked to stay with him, so he was good to us. We also felt nice when the servers in the couple of lounges we really liked chatted alot with us & made us feel very welcomed back each time we saw them. The head sommolier also recognized us when he served our wine at dinner at Palo.
We got the Pirate glasses on Pirate night at dinner. Chris sold them to us that night, but I think you can get them other places.
