Ok, we're planning uor first trip. We have two daughters and I'm thinking of bringing a back pack to carry camera, batteries, water, snacks, etc...

When you ride anything, is there a place to put your bag till you get off? Or do you have to carry it on the ride with you? I'm thinking of rollar coaster type rides where they strap you in and back packs wont fit will on your back.

When we ride rollercoaster tyle irdes, I take the staps of the bag and put my feet through and basically hold the bag with my between my feet, but the strap should keep it from flying off just in case. We have never found a place to store the bags and the CMs have always been fine with me holdong our bag like I said.

We always bring a backpack (and not a small one, either) and have ridden RnRC and EE in the way described. Doesn't take away from the experience at all.

However, you must take everything with you on all attractions so be aware.

Ok, just to make sure I'm understanding, you take it off, and put your feet through the starps and keep it behind your feet?

This works well?

We always carry a backpack and I take it off and put it at my feet! If I am going on a roller coaster, I put one of the straps through my legs to secure it. Works well!!! Never had a problem!! :thumbsup2

The whole idea is to basically hold it with you feet but have at least one strap around your ankle so that if it slips out from between your feet it will not fly away. Oh and be sure that it is zipped all the way....:goodvibes

You have to remember that Disney thrill rides aren't what you may have at your typical amusement park. You won't be on a floorless coaster or doing any of the really wild things that you find most other places. So every ride will allow you to bring it on.

As others have said, be sure that everything is zipped and secured and loop the straps on your feet. On Soarin you will leave a larger sized bag on the floor (I think they take it off to the side?). On Kali River Rapids there is a center compartment that is covered to help keep your things from getting soaked. Everyone in the raft can't put a full size backpack in there, but we have never had any problems fitting everything in that we needed to.

If you go to Universal they have lockers that your bags can go in before you ride because they have rides that it is not physically possible to bring them on.

Your stuff should be fine in your stroller. I have left item in ours and came back to find it all still there. I just would not leave anything valuable ( cameras, purse)

This is VERY helpful news. I am now able to plan on bringing my backpack and stuff it with supplies and snacks. THANK YOU.

Does anyone know were you can put your bags at Seaworld's Manta. I remember on the Kraken you can leave your bags (and shoes) at the loading bay for the ride since you get off at the same place you get on. Does the same thing apply to this one too?

so what happens if you leave a back pack in your stroller?

That is at your own risk. You are in a public place with lots of people so there is no guarantee that your bag (or your stroller!) will be there when you get back. I have heard lots of stories of toys and stuffed animals disappearing from strollers-- usually the Disney ones particularly. So while we may think of cameras and purses as our "valuables", remember that everything you have may be valuable to someone else. There are people there that will decide it is much easier to just take the stuffed Minnie or the Buzz light up toy, or the Pirate Sword, or even the Mickey Ears hat from your stroller than to buy it themselves.

That said, I have left things in my stroller or more recently on my ECV and never had anything taken. But I only leave things that I won't be too upset if I don't see it again. Everything else stays with me at all times.

What I use is a really big fanny pack. I think it's a bike's messenger fanny pack I think - or something like that.

It's small enough that I can stuff it places and big enough to carry lots and lots. The other advantage is that I'm not wearing something big on my back that makes me even hotter. :goodvibes

a lot of rides have a net in the actual ride. I ususally have a regular size backpack and it is tough to fit in but i shove it in  and it works. The rides that don't have the storage nets on them I do the same as others and put the straps around my ankle and hold them between my feet :)

As Rosetta said, I remember all rides in WDW having a place to put your bags, either under your seat or in front of you. It was able to fit my hefty shoulder bag in, no problem.

On Kali River Rapids though, be sure to keep your electronics in a plastic bag. There's a place in the middle of the raft that's covered, but water always gets in somehow. Same goes for Splash Mountain. As long as you your electronics and paper are protected, it's not problem.

Holding my backpack with my legs with my Nikon SLR in it every time I went on Rocn Rllr Cster (5 or 6 times I think) on our first trip last year is something that stands out in my mind, kind of scary but it worked!
