back pack or rolling luggage

I am going back and forth and not sure if I should use a back pack or small rolling luggage for my carry on. It will hold snacks for the kids, a small jacket each, change of clothes and a few toys for the plane ride. I thought a shoulder bag would get bothersome.

I have not flown in awhile and not sure what would be better and not take up as much room on the plane.

Any suggestions:goodvibes

I prefer rolling bags, because carrying anything by shoulder or back gets heavier by the minute, especially when hurrying through an airport. You might want to try loading up a backpack with all the stuff and wearing it around the house for a while to see if it's light or not. Also, is the backpack easy to hang in a restroom if you need to make a pit stop? You don't want to set a backpack on a bathroom floor if you can help it.

Does the rolling bags fit into the overhead of the plane good?

If the bag fits the particular airlines carryon measurments, then you'll be fine.
