We were at the World August 23-September 2nd. I made more PS that I usually do because we brought first-timers with us and wanted to show them a good time. We needed most of the PS afterall.

Favorite restaurant: Boma. First time for all of us. We had a 6:00 p.s. but arrived at 5:30 to tour the AKL. Were seated right away. The buffet was excellent and I admit I was a little concerned after reading some reports here. As encouraged by our server, we tried a little of everything. I skipped the cold salads so I wouldn't get too full. Everything was perfectly cooked and spiced. Desserts were among the best I've had on-site. Excellent South African red wine. We toured the savanna enclosure after dinner and decided to consider this resort for our next trip. We used the busses to get there with no problem -- took an AKL bus from Disney Studios. To return, took an Epcot bus, watched Illuminations and then bus to WL.

Le Cellier: definitely needed the PS here. waited 20 minutes after PS time. The food was good -- I had the petite filet mignon (eventually) but the server forgot my order!!! Everyone else had eaten by the time he brought out my steak. My oven roasted mushrooms were cold by then. The steak was good but the garlic smashed potatoes were wicked salty. We skipped dessert and had beavertails instead.

Teppanyaki -- this one I missed because I was deathly ill with some 12 hour virus. My family went without me and raved! Very, very kid friendly. Chef joked with the kids, flipping shrimp tails onto their heads and such. Host made them hopping origami frogs. Food was excellent. Worth every penny. Can't wait to try it myself.

Whispering Canyon Cafe -- hilarious! Our server was really into her part -- very droll. My daughter innocently asked for ketchup for her fries since they don't set the table with it. Only I
had an inkling of what was coming! I ordered the Skillet which was way too much food for me -- a good value if you have an appetite like Jethro Bodine.

Chefs de France -- Labor Day. Totally dead. We were one of three families there. Food was good rustic French but nothing special. I had the French Menu -- onion soup, roast chicken, potatoes, creme brulee. Dessert was the best part. Soup was disappointing. Will not do again because price is too high for food provided. Server was excellent, though.

The other meals were counter service. One night our meal consisted of soft pretzels and popcorn at the AMC theatre whilst swooning over Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in POC.

LOL! I'm sorry I got a real chuckle out of this as I'm originally from MA and people still make fun of me when I say 'wicked'!

Excellent reviews! You have good taste!! Which means, of course, similar to mine. :D

What is it with the Mouse and salt?!!?!?!

Nasty salt was the bane of my existance at Tuskers and Liberty Tree Tavern. I told the manager of LTT that the chef should be drown in a pot of these nasty salty grits or at least made to eat the entire pot himself. I made the manager taste my grits. You should have seen his face. But at least he believed me!

Enjoyed your reviews. Glad the bug was shortlived, too!

Thanks for sharing your reviews. Sorry about your little illness. I am glad to see that you had a good time at whispering canyon and I see you note you had a fun female server. Our expereince was terrible and our dss have begged me not to go there ever again (this past aug). Our server was a male and while he was an attentive server he was not into the fun at all and this made the 3 dss mad and jealous of all the others having fun and I did note that all those tables seemed to have female servers.

Glad you liked WCC too- we went and had a boring server (a guy), but we loved watching all of the other servers! They cracked us up! And most of them were females! Thanks for the reviews!

Wonderful report ~ Thanx for sharing!!!
