Two days on the Dream was torture - so I'm glad I'm getting to back on today for the 3 night Earmarked cruise (for travel agents), followed by 4 nights on the Inaugural!! Life is tough :)

I'll be updating the Dreams Unlimited facebook page from the ship throughout the week for anyone who wants to follow along!

Pete

Oh Pete your life is so rough. It's great that you are willing to take one for the team like that. :rotfl: I hope you don't suffer too much over the next week.

See you in February on the ABD trip.

Have a great time!! VERY jealous as I sit in negative degree weather waiting to get slammed with two feet of snow!

It's a tough like but somebody's got to do it! Hope they at least have good coffee on the Dream!

Looking forward to the updates!

I am so very envious right now- but very glad you are there to take full advantage of all the fun of launching a brand new ship!

Can wait to see pics and hear all about your adventures.

Happy sailing! :goodvibes

Kevin and I are heading out in a few minutes to go to the ship as well. We'll be joining Pete, Walter and several of our Dreams Unimited Travel Agents.

These short cruises are torture - can't wait to get on for a 'real' vacation.

After seeing the bars and spaces on this new ship PCC 3.0 is going to be a blast!!!

Just curious...

The "earmarked" cruise is definitely for work. And the christening cruise, too?
Disney wants the people in the travel industry to know the ship well so they can sell it. Are these first two cruises given at no cost to the travel agents, podcasters, media and the like?

Then, do you pay your own way for the inaugural cruise?

The christening cruise was for invited guests only and was provided free of charge. The Earmarked cruise is at a substantially reduced rate for all Earmarked agencies. The inaugural cruise is at the prevailing retail rate, which is why the actual review of the ship will be based on that sailing, not the previous ones.

Pete, another curious question.

Do the first two mini cruises (christening and earmarked) feel like shakedown cruises to make sure everything is "good to go" for the full paying guests on the inaugural cruise?

Hi Lyn,

I have never been on a Christening Cruise with Disney, but I was on the Carnival Victory for that one. The cruise lines will have everything in top shape for these, to make a great first impression on travel agents and media.

I am sure that the 2 runs before the Christening were to get the staff and ship ready for showtime.

Lyn, I would definitely say that the pre-Inaugural cruises are shakedowns. I was supposed to go on a shakedown cruise for Royal Caribbean years ago, but they were having engine problems and had to cancel our cruise.

Have a great time guys...I will be following the FB page

The Christening Cruise and the Earmarked Cruise certainly are not shaping up to be "shakedown" cruises.

Disney would not invite dignitaries, celebrities, media etc on. acruise they didn't feel was perfect.

These are big luxury events.

Ex...... there are dozens of stations handing out champagne flutes that say Disney Dream Magical Preview Cruise and the dates.

This particular sailing is for travel agents that carry the Earmaked designation.

Not every travel agent or agency
was invited..

Chances are that if an agent isn't on this cruise, then they are not with an Earmarked agency or an Earmarked agent.

Did you guys swipe some of those champagne flutes for the prizematron? :D
