Hey everyone, I just got back from DL Paris, and I'm back on this board now. I'd like to go back to Disneyland for the Holidays and have a few questions.

1) What week in December is not as crowded and cheaper than the other ones?
2) Do they offer Magic Mornings, or EE in December?
3) What rides do they normally shut off for maintenance during that time?

We went to Disneyland last year in October for Halloween and both Pirates and Small World were down...we'd hate to see them down again during the Holidays. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1. the first and 2nd week, however, usually the 2nd weekend of the month is usually packed because of the candlelight processional...

2. Yes the do off MM (now called EMH like at wdw)

3. Ive never actually paid attention much to maintainance during december but it seems to me that if there are any rides shut down it will be minimal because thanksgiving to new years can get really busy and especially this year with CL opening I think its going to be much of the same...honestly, I think the only really significant thing that was down last dec. was IJ and that was like for just a day or something...

best time to go is right after thanksgiving to the first week of dec i have alwyas found slow crowd levels when i went at these times

MM still takes place.

EMH has started and like WDW it's for resort guests only. It happens with MM, that comes once with a 3day or longer ticket, in DL, and in DCA on the other days of the week. STTS=DL, MWF=DCA.

After that weekend following Thankgiving will be the best and it will slowly go up for a couple week and then quickly get worst the next couple weeks leading to Christmas.

I would not worry about the Candle Light Procession. It barely adds any crowds, and what crowds come stay on Main Street. It does not cause resort wide crowds.

Cast Member parties may fall in the first of second week of December and DL has closed a couple hours early on those nights. It may or may not effect the new longer hours that DCA has.

EE is for APs only and is only planned to last to the Fall.

You were probably there when SW was down for their Christmas overlay. They usually do that starting in the end of October, so it's all complete by Thanksgiving. The Christmas overlay is such a big thing for SW I don't think they ever have that ride down for Christmas season.

Usually the only rides down between Thanksgiving and New years are rides under MAJOR refurbishment that takes months or ones down for just a day or so for a minor adjustment.

SM will be down for a little while after Halloween to remove their Halloween overlay, but that usually doesn't take very long. It's always up way in time for Thanksgiving.
